Obviously everything hangs on the long term for Hall but this first half of the season has been a bust. I find it hard to believe that they expected him to play so rarely. Really hope he develops as I like his game a lot, he’s got great pace, very positive running, lovely technique. Don’t really know what his defending is like as we’ve seen him so few times but it hasn’t looked bad, just looks inexperienced

I’d like this story to fuck off. Ashworth can stay or go but uncertainty and column inches aren’t good for us. Hope this gets resolved before the end of the month

More like £15m. I’d keep him as a squad player, he’s still got a lot to offer coming off the bench, especially when we’re defending a game. Not such a good option when we’re chasing games. His days of starting should be over though

Mourinho is as bad a fit as they come. Can’t think of a worse manager for us really, both in terms of the style of play, sustainability and his work with tired players. He’s still a very good manager if you throw money at him and focus on the cup competitions but that’s it

Didn’t think Longstaff’s was a pen. Was there any major contact other than a bit of upper body when he was running through? It’s one of the weaknesses of his game that isn’t going to improve at this stage. He doesn’t have the technique to control aerial balls, bring them down cleanly and then find a yard of space which was required yesterday. It wasn’t an easy chance at all but he could have tried ten times and I wouldn’t have been confident it would have worked once

His pace was never an issue, he’s managed to defend against all sorts of tricky pacy wingers for us, all last season. However, he’s getting turned inside out a lot this season, can’t see how it’s sustainable unless it’s to do with him not being fully recovered

We have to get the ball to him more in those situations where he’s trying to run in behind because he’ll clean up
