Bellingham is immense, has everything you’d want in a midfielder, his lofted balls are so good
-
Such a great pen, I think the fact that he seems a bit dead behind the eyes must help Kane with things like that
-
That’s an outstanding goal, amazing work from Saka and brilliant finish from Mount
-
So disheartening watching us move the ball so poorly, I love Foden and technically he’s probably our best player but we’re not seeing it from him right now. I don’t think it’s his fault, I think we’re just not playing in a fluid way when we attack with the ball, our movement is static, we’re looking at long balls rather than quick ten yard passes where we stretch them. Feels like we’re watching the England team that I’ve grown up watching through the late 90s, 00s and early 10s
-
Shaw has had a couple of really awful passes infield in our defensive third, should be our boy Matty lining up there
-
Carthorse with two mistakes inside ten seconds, gives the ball away under the slightest pressure, then clatter into his leg. Absolutely embarrassing defending
-
It’s more his touch that’s an issue, it absolutely flies off his boot when he tries to kill the pace on it
-
Our use of the ball has been atrocious, just long hopeful balls to nobody while Germany pass it around quickly in triangles, we look like we haven’t been coached to play as a team

Big announcement? Sponsor for next season?
-
Yeah, they realised that shows like Have I got News for You and Pointless have paved the way for rotating managers. They're moving towards a system where they'll have a different manager in place for each game of the season. Hats off to them for this bold approach
-
To be honest, they’re looking very poor considering Pedro and Sarr are in the top five best players in the league, but it’s Watford and they’re a joke
-
Fuck’s sake, please be back for Fulham

Sterling has his moments? He’s been amongst our best three performers on average for years even though his level has dropped since the Euros. Walker, I agree but for different reasons, his legs are starting to go. He’s been one of our best outlets for years getting us up the pitch so it’s a strange comment about his possession. Rice, is a difficult one, he’s a good player but because we’re so static going forwards he’s really not that great in this system
-
Is it not going to be super humid? I don’t know much about the climate there at that time of year
-
I think you’ve got problems that are bigger than Southgate @David Edgar
-
Howay man, say what you want about this shit and the quality of our football outside of tournaments but his results have been outstanding in major tournaments. You can talk about the fact he’s got great players at his disposal but the same was said for years and years before and other managers had less success. I agree that this performance is nowhere near good enough and we don’t look like we have a clear system of attack. His time might be close to being up but he didn’t luck his way through two tournaments
-
How hot is expected to be in Qatar? Expecting some games to be a slugfest of shit because of the temperatures
-
There’s no doubt that since the Euros our performances have dropped. I’m sure there are lots of reasons for that but we don’t look like a cohesive team through the middle. It’s on Southgate to work out how to get these quality players to link up properly. I know it’s not a World Cup / Euros game but we look so devoid of energy
-
Apart from Bellingham, there’s basically no positives to take from this performance. Pope’s been solid. Our movement of the ball has been exceptionally slow at times and when we have broken forward we’ve been so poor
-
Pretty sure Kane’s jaw can take that
-
Missing Premier League football for this
-
“That tackle’s right on the edge of being a foul”. If that had been against a top four side you can imagine VAR would have wanted a look
-
Seen him play a couple of times and my brother in law is a massive Sheffield United fan. He says that he’s streets above most players in that league but that he seems to lack the intensity and attitude to really dominate despite his technical ability and physique. Maybe he’s something of a Wijnaldum type player that couldn’t be relied upon to perform when you really need him to but he’s clearly ready for a premier league team
