  1. Class from Bellamy that. Two fingers up to QPR and Liverpool is the perfect move
  2. Would be an amazing window ever if we sold Obertan and brought in a RB and young FW
  3. Don't know how much bullshit that is, but Sinclair isn't even top 6 standard
  4. Dunno, I think he makes some pretty good points. I don't think it's massively negative either. Based on this window, we're obviously not going to be able to compete in Europe and the league, but as long as we put in some effort in Europe, I'll mainly be looking for us to reproduce our league form from last season. The financial side of the Europa essentially means that even if we do really well and win/draw 10+ matches, we're unlikely to bring home much more than 6-7m in TV, prize money and attendances. In terms of the long-term finances and balance, I think we're doing ok. We desperately need a RB, we also desperately need a useful, young striker. Apart from that, I think we could start the season with what we have and do really well
  5. Their eagerness is purely greed and impatience. I agree with an earlier statement that City and Chelsea have ruined football in their own ways, what PSG are doing is a hyperised version of it. Doing it in a league where there are literally zero financial competitors and buying talent which could walk into any team in the world. Appalling.

Krul is such a nice guy, always seems in a good mood

    Alan Pardew

He certainly won't go beating his man or any of that but I think he's really underrated as a passer of the ball. Looking forward to seeing him develop more this season

    Alan Pardew

Ah cool, cheers. It's all a blur to me now. In spite of my memory on this one, I'd prefer Perch playing RB to Simpson as he is technically a much better player

    Alan Pardew

Didn't Simpson start every game of our season last season? I remember Perch helping out just behind CM a few times and LB, can't remember him at RB but I'm probably talking s**** as my memory is shocking

I mean worldwide the sport will become more popular, so in countries which don't love it at the moment. In terms of the money bubble bursting, I expect that to happen and think it is happening to some degree because of the fact that most clubs are in debt and the world is in a financial crisis. I don't know about wage caps but I would welcome them or any other financial constraints in football
  11. Killing their league more like, what a horrible league that's going to be next year

They both make good points. Football is always going to be the most popular sport because of how accessible it is to watch and play. I can only see it becoming more popular around the world. If other sports (olympic marginalised sports) were as competitive and gained as much coverage throughout the year, I would no doubt watch them more but they'd not overtake football. In spite of all that, I have more respect for most of the athletes at the olympics than the footballers and it shows how much competing and pushing yourself means to these people. When the money bubble eventually bursts in footballer's wages, football will not only be even more popular than it already is, but will be so much more likeable. I can't wait

    Campbell, Wickham, Dong-Won right?
  14. If football was a one-man sport, I reckon Obertan would be damn good at it
  15. Big shame that Ferguson hasn't been fit in the pre-season, he'll hopefully get Europa games so that he can actually develop a fixed role either at LW or LB
  16. I heard he scored s*** loads for us in the second half of last season. Indeed, I'm aware of that
  17. Cisse off-side all day, he was meant to be the most off-side player in the Bundesliga.
  18. When? I still find it incredible that he can use his pace to beat a guy, then after he's beaten him suddenly stop to allow the defender to catch back up and dispossess him Does it every time too. It's because he has absolutely zero football brain. You just can't teach that at all, he can get more confident, improve at certain parts of his game but his head just doesn't move quick enough with what's happening on the pitch. Makes me so angry to see him messing up the simplest of things and not taking advantage of beating a man
  19. Den Fag more like, Tiote took the ball cleanly and he lay whimpering on the floor
  20. Hell man Obertan, did the hard bit and then just messed up the end product like every other time
  21. Colo's been class as usual, Stevie T has had a couple of alright headers, Tiote has actually moved the ball round really well save for a couple of sloppy passes, Santon's made a couple of nice runs and delivered a good cross. Apart from that, we've done ok in possession but not created any decent chances.
  22. Jonas living up to his title of being the most fouled player in the league
  23. One thing that's been noticeable in all our pre-season games is how patient we are with the ball. We're definitely trying to hold onto it more
  24. Re Mole - I'd take this over commentary almost every time
