    Loris Karius

All hinges on Dubravka imo. In terms of quality, it means the best outcome is having Pope - Dubravka - Karius as our GK roster next year. If Dubravka leaves, we could go for one of Forster/Krul to compete with Karius as backup if as has been speculated we're looking to bolster our club trained numbers for the CL. I think that is a weaker selection though.
  2. If we take 3 signings to be the minimum, you have to think it will be a LB, CM and ideally someone who can play multiple positions as an 8/AM/RW. Another CB would probably be next on the list in terms of priority after those three.
  3. Just to be clear, my comments were directed at the notorious ability of the NUFCTV crew to make an interview worse (especially a difficult one). Not at L.Miley
  4. The NUFCTV one is somehow even worse (a shocker, I know ) https://www.nufc.co.uk/nufc-tv/latest-videos/ive-dreamt-of-this-since-i-was-a-boy-smiles-debutant-miley/
  5. No need to sell either, as things stand they are two of our best three wide players.
  6. In terms of quality on average, there's a strong case to be made that the Brighton squad is superior to Spurs too
  7. I don't believe he'll be sold this summer, and I'd like to think there is a good chance we can keep him for the long-term. However, if the day does arrive when he is sold, we should at least be looking for the fee that Coutinho went to Barcelona for. That's the price of business for buying from clubs within the elite or with elite aspirations. £87m is considerably too low and may be even more so after next season.

  9. Usually any kind of Bruce endorsement would be an immediate disqualifier for me but I'm going to assume he failed to draw the connection to the system and coaching that Bruce inherited from Rafa. As for the rest, I think critical comments towards Howe during/as a result of his final season at Bournemouth were quite commonplace and there's a certain inevitability to that given how poor they looked at the time, even though it needs to be seen in the much wider context of everything Howe achieved there. His success here is off the back of continued learning and development after that experience. Which bits did you disagree with, out of interest? I don't agree with all of his takes by any means but he has our pressing structure spot on imo.
  10. Brilliant breakdown of our tactical approach this season under Howe.

  12. Kieran Tierney "expected to move to Newcastle United" according to Gary Jacob in The Times.
  13. I actually think he has shown more - on a technical level and in terms of decision making on the ball, admittedly based on a limited showing so far. Probably slower than Gordon although that pace hasn't been utilised effectively so far. Both have some good instincts when it comes to occupying space on the left. If it's correct that Anderson's best position long-term will be out wide then the Gordon signing makes even less sense.

  16. A mixed bag today as others have said. Plenty of endeavour and a lot of good runs to get into promising positions, he almost seemed to be the main focus of our forward play for large parts of the first half as a result of that. However, his decision making was poor, I agree that he didn't seem to be entirely in sync with our patterns of play and was perhaps playing too individually, which may have been a significant factor in his HT substitution. Too early to be writing him off for sure but it's not unreasonable to have doubts about whether he has the potential to evolve into a top-four level PL player.

    Scott McTominay

Similar or even greater levels of noise around Dean Henderson at the beginning of last summer, which ultimately came to nothing and saw us land a superior goalkeeper. Hopefully this link will run it's course in a similar way, FI are bullshitters.

    Garang Kuol

I seem to remember reading that we essentially allowed Kuol to decide his preferred destination from the various suitors. Doesn't change the fact that Shola has no business playing a role in an NUFC that is no longer a parody of itself, though.

  22. I'm sure under Howe's tutelage he will improve, and will hopefully prove to at least be a useful player. However, I don't see anything to suggest he's going to evolve into a top four level premier league wide forward, which is the level we're aspiring to sustain and build upon. Can't help but feel, in that context, his signing will prove to be a miss just in terms of opportunity cost. Hope he proves me wrong
