  1. I hope that isn't the case as it would seriously call their judgement into question.
  2. Proposed swap deal now being reported by BBC sport. Wtf
  3. Chelsea continuing to Chelsea. Unless there is some FFP fuckery going on, like potentially with the Everton/Villa links in the last couple of days
  4. He has, the hope would have to be that Howe could enable him to rediscover the kind of form he showed under Ancelotti. A little bit like Rondon was transformed under Rafa after years labouring under Pulis et al at WBA. Seems like a big risk though for any kind of major fee, especially with our financial limits this summer.
  5. His injury record is a worry but he is quite considerably an inferior player to Wilson irrespective of that.
  6. I'm the same, especially when we actually have a squad built around togetherness and character, something that we can be proud of and identify with. It isn't something that should be taken for granted by fans.
  7. Poor from what I've seen. None of the Burnley keepers acquitted themselves particularly well on that front
  8. I had been won over recently to the benefit of competing in Europe next year simply for the benefit of acclimating further to 2x games a week and of course the chance to win a trophy. What I would say though is that this does give a definite opportunity to focus squarely on the league and hopefully get ourselves looking towards the CL places and upwards. That is where the ambition of the club lies and achieving that as soon as is possible gives us the best chance of building momentum more quickly + keeping the likes of Bruno and Isak.
  9. I rate our recruitment team highly, but I think if you have that much confidence that Bruno can be so easily replaced then you are guilty of seriously underrating him.
  10. It's more that there is one very good reason to look to sell him - to generate enough funds to allow us to keep Bruno and Isak while remaining within FFP limits and strengthening the squad

  13. Ramsdale isn't an upgrade on Pope.
  14. Anyone who presumes replacing him would be anything other than enormously difficult is guilty of seriously underrating him. Keeping him and Isak is more important than any summer signing we can make.

  16. Just a timely reminder from several pages back.

  19. Agree with all of the above. The criticism of his performances, as is very often the case, has been way OTT given their full context.
  20. Newcastle 2-2 Spurs Brentford 2-1 Sheff United Burnley 1-2 Brighton Man City 3-0 Luton Forest 2-1 Wolves Bournemouth 1-2 Man United Liverpool 3-1 Palace West Ham 2-1 Fulham Arsenal 3-1 Villa Chelsea 2-1 Everton
  21. "I hope to stay much longer. I don't know what the future brings let's see, but I hope to play much more for Newcastle United." Sounds much more positive, not sure if the same interview.

  24. Pickford is an inferior goalkeeper to Pope.
