The problem is that Lpool is willing to offer silly money and sadly this represents the current development of game . Players don't give a fuck about club loyalty and the situation is worsened by the agents. NUFC is one of the few clubs that actually have the guts to say no. A good example is Carroll: he'd just performed half a pl-season. Still he found it natural to demand to be the highest paid player in the club. Giving him what he wanted would have set the standard for every contract negotiation in the future. The only way we will get Enrique to sign is to offer him silly money. But that on the other hand will take money from our transfer budget. Since we have no money to buy a good backup we depend on Enrique being fit through the season, which is not likely. This season has shown that we need squad depth more than anything. Carroll is now paid £80 000 a week as a reward for his 11 pl-goals. And Enrique would probably be offered a similar amount of money. If he's given a similar contract length, Lpool with pay around £45 million pounds in salary during this period, and it's for only two players..Then multiply this with 10 and you got the whole first squad..How the hell are they going to pay for this? They will never break even and will become totally owner dependent. Still their squad is shit. With our transfer kitty I think we next season will have a good enough squad to compete for europe.

If the club fails, a key player will probable leave for practically nothing come christmas. Then we have no money at all buy a decent replacement. And we have to spend money during a window which is well known for its inflated prices. If we're selling him for the quoted amount, not only are we able to buy a good replacement, we will have money left to invest in other players too. Our total squad depth and quality will in other words improve. And the way Lpool has been spending money lately, I think we'll get the amount Thompson mentioned. It will be f***ing heartbreaking to see him wear that ugly red shirt, but for the club as a whole, it's a sound move.

We have to be realistic though. His form has dropped since Carroll's sale. He is one our best players. But again, £15 mill allows us to buy a good replacement with a potential to be just as good or even better than Enrique. . And we could buy a better rb than Simpson. In sum that makes our defense stronger.

Agreed. Baines illustrates how ineffective Enrique is in his offensive play. Imo £15 mill is a good offer when we consider that he only got one year left on his contract.

Of course he hadn't the best support from our midfield. But he failed in his attempt of keeping the ball. He lost the ball almost every time. But he's young. He should learn his trade in another league. Kuqi should start our next match..

Not according to madras who thought he was worse than Taylor. He was our best player with a solid margin imo. He looks better for each game...

You obviously have no clue. Loven is capable of two things..tapping the ball from short distance and beating the offside trap. But in order to beat the offside, he needs a cm that is able to hit him through. The only man we have on the pitch capable of performing such passes is Barton, but he's now playing rm . Do you actually think Loven will get those passes when Guthrie and Colo is playing cm. Against Wolves Barton drifted inside and delivered Loven one good ball into space..The result? Loven hit the post..

He didn't have much to work with either. We failed to give him through balls and our wide men didn't have many decent crosses during the game..

Man of the match with good margins imo. One of the best games I've seen from him. Won every header. Good positioning resulted in him snapping up a couple of through ball attempts. And he was even cool with the ball.. Had some couple of nice passes to central midfield, but also did it simple when necessary. The difference between him and Taylor was noticeable today.
