True, but we are leaking goals from fullback/wingback area anyway. Playing 3 centre backs usually means one steps up to join midfield occasionally when we have the ball. Clark and Lascelles don't have the legs, so tha only leaves Schär, you doesn't seem to stay fit. We also need defensive midfielder.

We just don't have good enough centrebacks. Throwing in 3 to cover their weakness solves nothing. And why Ritchie still keeps his place is beyond me. He just can't defend to save his life, and every team has taken advantage of it.

And Italy pressing will suit you because of that slow back 4 they have. Kane dropping deep and wide forwards running behind. Rice, Phillips and Mount is not good enough to control possession, but you don't have to.

That's true, but tbh Chiellini and Bonucci are great at that and will not give up cheap fouls. Most likely the one who scores first will win. Italy will be pressing Pickford a lot. His kicking has been awful. Their bench is not very good, but midfield is a lot better. Very interesting game.
