We really havent seen him play against lot of pressure yet. WBA didnt press him very much and he had loads of time on the ball in some places, a bit same against West Ham iirc? Was totally different against Everton. Playing Mitro will also help this because it means we can go past the high press because of Mitro's hold up play. Well this is probably not true. The higher you end up the bigger the money. I think what he really wants is a interesting team that gets a lot of TV-games thus a LOT of advertisement for Sports Direct. But if you need to spend 20 million on a striker to finish 15th instead of 18th, the extra placement money isn't going to cover it. And Sky and BT will be more interested in showing our games if we look like we might go down than if we're safe and no longer have anything to play for. The games where we have the most worldwide viewership for our billboards aren't because of us being exciting, it's because we're jobbing to Man U or Liverpool, and you get those games on TV no matter who you are. He really is a bit like SDJ as no 10 in away games. Not moving to channels which would open up space in the middle, not coming deep to collect it, not making runs past his strike partner. Is that the instruction that he must stick right as a no 10 and make no move whatsoever? Home games he seems to everywhere, making tricks near the corner flag and overloading at wings and sometimes making late runs in to the box.

I agree with this apart from the Townsend part, partly because I think hes crap and the other part is he has no record of creating these chances you speak of. Townsend still probably is (and has to be) better than Thauvin has been this season. I am not saying Townsend is gonna be assisting loads of goals, but just because we are gonna be threat on both sides are gonna make us harder to defend against. Doumbia seems like a tricky and pacey striker, which we really haven't had in a while. Thauvin didn't play so comparing how he performed against someone who didn't start isn't relevant. Given Perez will most likely make way for Townsend we should compare those two. Yea, Perez will probably make way, if Townsend is going straight to starting XI, which we dont know. Perez is good going forward, but has faded a bit recently. Does Steve see him more of a striker/second striker? But at least we are having a some competition for places, its not good for Mitro or Perez to be starting every week when there is no one to take your place. A bit like Colo has been playing for few seasons now..
