  1. Always thought it was a golf and cricket term.
  2. Boring as fuck a lot of the time since Arteta, yet obviously effective. Two best teams in the league play mind numbing shite a lot of weeks IMO. 4 centre backs FFS. Mikel Pulis.
  3. Yeah. Noticed him a bit last season. But last week and again tonight. He’s looked the best player on the pitch. He’s ragdolled Partey twice.
  4. Martinelli regularly plays like a dog doing zoomies. Just runs about at a hundred miles an hour, often in circles.
  5. He was direct. But ‘terrorised’?! Nonsense. What game was he watching? Think he got by him once and he won a corner. Other than that, Dalot did a very good job on him and was often isolated 1 v 1. With Minteh almost always making or being pushed into the wrong decision. Most the time just taking too long to do anything. Dalot had him in his pocket. Whilst still managing to help out in attack at times. He was promising in ways and I wish we could have kept hold of him based on what I have seen. But what were the FFP alternatives? Sell Joelinton? Gordon? Bruno…..?! Surely someone who’s never played for us being sold for a good profit and someone who was a bit positionless and not a first team regular was the better option.
  6. Credit to Dalot. But bar set piece delivery. He has looked toothless and a bit clueless all game.
  7. Brighton have shit the bed here. Should have been out of sight and now let off with that. Man U been getting in behind with ease this half.
  8. Dalot is underrated, I think. Hardly ever see him mentioned when talking about the top full backs in the league/world. But he’s decent on both sides and quality at both ends of the pitch.
  9. Agree. Not totally dead, mind. Xhaka scored an absolute thunderbastard earlier.
  10. Is Zero implying that keeping Minteh and Anderson would have better than selling Joelinton? Assuming clubs were in for Joelinton at the right price with only 18 months left on his deal, of course. Plus the injury. Is that the ‘damage’ being referred to?
  11. Most still absolutely love him, myself included. There are a few on here who seem desperate for him to fail, for some reason. Or perhaps that they think we'll instantly do better with another manager. Twitter has similarly outlandish views about Howe. But not fair to judge a fanbase on Twitter morons. I think there is certainly some truth in losing allies in Staveley and Ghodoussi and some noise around the England job. I'd be gutted if he went there, as I'm certainly a club over country fan. Plus I don't even think with how he works and his style. He would be suited to being an international manager. My own view on Howe that he is nearly as important as the takeover and getting rid of Mike Ashley. I think he has been a breath of fresh air and has got me connected to the club again. After years of disinterest. He's not perfect and the injuries last season (and at Bournemouth by the sounds of things) are a bit of a worry. The same way I think the way we build our attacking play from back to front can be a bit lacking and disjointed at times. But they're minor gripes. 8.5 or a 9 out of 10 since joining.
  12. Reminds me of leaving a Liverpool away game back under Pardew or some other shit manager. It was an early KO, I think we'd just gone 3-0 down and I was flagging after a heavy day and night before. Tried getting back into the Arkle where we were before, but no away fans after the match. Or so they said. Pointed me to a pub down the road, flat iron, something like that. Anyway, got offered plastics to go outside, which was to just go and stand on the street which was an odd, but actually kind of enjoyable experience. They had the game on the radio with loads of the old boys attentively listening to it.
  13. Way worse than Klopp, IMO. Arsenal were almost like a second team for years. With so many good mates and family members supporting them, I actually went to a few games of theirs. Arteta and how weird he has turned their fan base have made me dislike them nearly as much as Chelsea and Man U An Arsenal fan in the pub last night genuinely said "lots of fans of other clubs say to me they really like Arteta." I mean, you can appreciate he is clearly a good coach/manager. But also recognise he is an absolute creep of the highest order.
  14. @timeEd32 you could do that for most close’ish games across a season to be fair. Either in stats or score line. There are usually positives and negatives for both sides. Apart from some of the football served up under Bruce, Allardyce and Pardew towards the end Listening to a 5Live pod this morning. Stephen Kelly and Asmir Begovic were sort of referencing the first game of the season, almost being an extension of pre-season. I fully agree with that. Teams are not fully fit, there is some ring rust, not quite up to speed and comfortable with their system. Especially if there has been a change in the coaching setup or big changes in personnel. I suppose when there is an international tournament and players returning to their clubs late. It is further accentuated. In the games I saw and the highlights. I feel like there was plenty of sloppy play on show and teams nowhere near 100%. I’d be worried if we were regularly turning in performances like the first 30 minutes after say 5-10 games AND it carried on for the full 90 AND we lose the game. So in short, I’m not worried.
  15. I’d like to think he is better/more comfortable receiving the ball than Longstaff. So that would be a start.
  16. Ipswich were the better side against Liverpool first half. Then they came unstuck and could have lost by a lot more second half. Arsenal were making uncharacteristic mistakes against Wolves and were lucky not to concede. City even looked disjointed at times against a wide open, lazy Chelsea side. Using one game, the opening game of the season, even. To try and over-analyse the team, manager and everything else seems a bit ridiculous.
  17. Rogers looked immense from what I saw. I was dipping in and out of the room. Bailey is electric and all. I’ve no idea what he’s doing half the time. He seems mad as a hatter But it is great to see an old fashioned, aggressive winger be direct like that. Love watching him play.
  18. Fernandez for £120m looks like one of the worst transfers of all time. Good hit. Shit keeping Well done Peter. All your shouting paid off.
  19. Reminds me of playing FIFA with the pre-recorded stuff and they’d often use the wrong one and it’d be really jarring. So they’d shout ‘ROOONEYYYYY’ when it’s nowhere near. Followed by a calm ‘goal kick’. Drury is at this point, a real life FIFA commentator. ‘And Palmer. And Jackson. AAAAAAND FERNANDEZ.’ Fuck off.
  20. Doku’s final ball is laughably bad
  21. Savinho looks quality. Granted he is getting a ridiculous amount of space. Big for Chelsea him coming off.
  22. Aye. That’s the one.
