  1. I think this is fair. I do think people forget just how bad the injuries have been and the impact these have had on our season. Yes, other teams have had it bad. Namely Villa and Man U. But I’d argue they clearly have stronger squads than us and were further ahead on that side of things. We regularly have benches full of kids, older players who were past it years ago and the odd player starting that is barely a top ten ability regular. Then said players getting burnt out, due to no genuine options to rotate with. I think people are probably fed up of the injuries ‘excuse.’ Annoyed at some of the perceived mistakes Howe keeps making and the seeming inability to adapt. But it is by far and away the biggest reason. Yes the football and namely the defending as a whole has been criminal. But we’re still in with a chance of top 7, possibly top 6 and we have some important players coming back. Set the bar almost too high last season. Not sure this was ever a top 4 squad. Just like I’m sure this current NUFC squad, when most of the players are available. Is far better than they are showing.
  2. Yeah. Just feel like he is a pure, touch inside and shoot wide forward type. Whereas Gordon seems a bit more versatile.
  3. Thought he still looked fast and direct. I also thought Barnes looked really positive for the goal and showed good speed. In the few times he has played there. Gordon doesn’t look as comfortable on the right. But I’d love to get a front 3 out of this pair and Isak, somehow. Some genuine interchanging, movement, pace and a goal threat across the board.
  4. Not that bad. But he’s been mainly poor since coming back from injury.
  5. Turns like the Costa Concordia at the minute. Sluggish as fuck.

    Joe Willock

A positive at least. Looked sharp and infinitely faster than the usual statues in the middle.
  7. Botman has become a bit of a problem since coming back from injury. Seems to be getting worse and less mobile.
  8. Some more top tier defending Oh well. We all said we’d get bummed. Can’t really get too upset.
  9. Pathetic from Botman. Turned like that Ever Given in the Suez Canal.
  10. I was thinking the same and if it might be a system that could work. Gordon and Barnes just running about like dogs up top
  11. Was just coming in to post this. What an absolute shambles. I know you’ll never please everyone and there are cons with different systems and ballots etc. But they’ve royally fucked the ticketing policy this season.
  12. Being paid but not having to turn up to work for 18 months doesn’t sound much like rotting, to me
  13. They’ll be a totally different beast at home in the league and we’re going through a tough spell to say the least. But from what I saw of that second half. Arsenal looked tepid as fuck and sloppy on the ball. Awful game from what I saw.
  14. Unrecognisable, aren’t they? Only seen them in patches and then most the first half just there. Spaletti going to manage the national side has taken about 30-40% off the price for Osimhen and Krava.
  15. Probably overthinking it and we’ll be unchanged. But if we were to go 5 at the back. I wonder if it might be Barnes and Gordon up top in kind of a split role? Just purely looking to use their pace in behind. Arsenal usually look solid at the back. But I’d imagine by design from us and from their good passing play. We will invite them onto us. We’ve been good getting in behind the high defensive lines of City and Villa on both occasions this season
  16. Ibe had mental health problems, didn’t he? As in a mental breakdown, had to come away from football completely and is now playing non-league. Not saying he would have necessarily carried on at the top level. But seemed like he really struggled with the demands of a professional footballer and the pressure that brings.
  17. Fantasy Football. Not the game itself. But how it has now become such a part of the mainstream. Maybe it’s been that way for a while and I never noticed. But I remembered thinking it was odd that FF was such a big thing over in America for the NFL. It seemed huge over there and formed part of the coverage all the while. Never thought it was the case over here. But SSN, radio shows and podcasts are all over it now. I’m listening to a review piece from the day’s games and there’s a load of bollocks on about whether or not I should triple captain Erling Haaland.
  18. On Sky? Nah. It’s Alan Smith. Whilst he sounds like a monster from a horror movie set in the midlands. He’s nowhere near as bad as Hinchcliffe.
  19. Terrible goalkeeping. Weak as piss. Great leap from Onana, mind. Game on.
  20. A lot of this is pure guesswork and speculation, though? We don’t even know how heavily involved in recruitment he was. Like most have said in this thread. Botman we couldn’t get done in January. But did that summer. When did Ashworth get here, June? Pope was an early one, from memory. Isak was late in the window and we went back after Wilson was injured. I’m sure plenty on here were praising Ashworth for getting it done quickly once we realise what needed to happen. I don’t agree it’s gotten worse. Hard to judge last season’s window and you’re not going to hit on every transfer, regardless. I genuinely couldn’t give a shit either way about him going. Find it weird there is so much noise around it all. I just think there is a lot of revisionism going on. People being smart after the event. And people conveniently focusing on negatives or complaining about no visible or noticeable changes. I get we don’t like Man U and I’m fully on board with that just reading plenty of posts where it feels like bitterness is seeping through. All feels incredibly petty and small time, to me.
  21. A goal that good does not belong in this game. Been the worst I’ve seen this season, for sure.
  22. They’re going to have a job on getting highlights together at half time. May as well just cut to adverts for 15 minutes.
