Recently beat Arsenal and were the better side second half. Thought they looked decent with 11 at SJP and still dangerous with 10 before we scored. Don’t think it’s an easy game at all. Especially with our away form and the lack of rotation.

Odegaard?! For all that I can’t stand Arteta. I do think his team is greater than the sum of its parts. A bit like us under Howe last season in some ways. Plenty of players that are not necessarily household names or players you consider elite. But that really suit the system and style.

Havertz is so passive. Looks scared to have a pop and strolls about in slow motion. Before some tame attempt at goal. No urgency whatsoever when he gets near goal.

Not for me. He is good there and is brilliant when he swaps positions like he did here. But those runs from deep where Schar looks for him or the channel runs like this one work brilliantly when he is playing centre mid. Can drift about and isn’t starting out wide. I also think our midfield needs him in for a lot of games. Even when everyone is fit, he is invaluable in there for away games/big matches. Just love how involved he is when he is in the 3.

To be fair. He’d add some much needed pace to our backline. He’d also add some Boumsong’esque comedy capers with how rash he was at times. What’s not to like?!

Hall can’t be. I know he’s young. But doesn’t seem fancied at all.

Yeah. I don’t mean he is suddenly going to become that player. He has been brilliant for us at times. But probably never going to get to the level we need. Before we scored today, he probably should have done better with the header and then blazed two half decent chances over. Incredibly frustrating that he is usually wasteful. Still seems harsh to criticise him and write it down like this. As it is often his hard work and knowing when to make that run that gets him the chance in the first place.

I mean. When he regularly wastes the chance, picks the wrong pass, doesn’t get a decent touch on it, in those positions. I would say there is a bit wrong with that. That is what is so frustrating. As if he had a bit more composure and consistency. He would be massive for us.

Maidstone at home would be nice. Knowing the way the cup draws have been this season. Probably somehow end up with Real Madrid or 1999 Man U.

Just catching up with some highlights. Woodman looked awful for Preston and also tiny. I always thought he looked slight and small when playing for us. But it seemed like he was about 5ft 8”. Not a chance he is 6ft 2”.

Yeah. Torres was utter wank against us at SJP. Has looked quality every time I’ve seen him since.

19 more games as a minimum to get to 20 goals in all comps. What’s he on now, 13?

Like every player post. Caveat that sunderland were shite. But I thought he was much better back with his usual mates down the right. Seemed more involved and was getting about the pitch more. Have loved his off the ball work for a while. Both in attack and defence. But my word (Ray Wilkins RIP). His finishing and composure are so bad when under the slightest bit of pressure. Such a shame. As he offers something none of our other midfielders do. He crashes the box late and gets chances because of it.

Whenever I watch him. I do think he looks a bit erratic at times. But runs his bollocks off, never hides despite how many chances he’s missed and chips in with loads of assists and all. Watkins could well be a system player for them. But he’s lethal for them. Think he’ll give our defence the runaround again at the end of the month.
