You often hear people say “ah we should have scored a few more/ this should be 5-0” etc. But this genuinely should be 6 or 7 nil to Barca. They’ve bummed Madrid into next week.
-
Was about to type this a minute ago. Looked up and then he gave it away He’s taking the absolute piss. Like he’s not letting them have the ball. He’s just casually fucking about with it like a game down the local park.
-
Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant Madrid. Barca look miles better than the shite Koeman was serving up.
-
Are Uruguay going to be good? Every game I watch I seem to recognise one of their players of late.
-
Horrendous dive that. JUST PUT IT IN THE NET
-
I half watched them a couple of times since getting La Liga TV. Just never seem impressive by their high standards.
-
Not seen much of Real Madrid this season. But they have looked shite when I have. Even against PSG, they looked awful over two legs bar a 20 minute spell. It also helped that PSG kept getting assists for Madrid and gifting them goals. Barca have played them off the park here so far. Mad that they are running away with La Liga.
-
Why are they both wearing away kits for El Clasico? What a nonsense.
-
I think we’ll get a couple of wins at home and a few draws, plus maybe win at Norwich. Just hope we are miles clear going i to those last 4 games. As they look brutal.
-
Anyone know where they’re staying in Dubai? I’m there next week. I’m not planning on going there and being like that Adam creep but it would be cool if I happened to be staying somewhere nearby.

He is a pundit for BT today, though. Not doing his usual shit, trolling job on Talksport.

Agbonlahor is such a dullard. Seemed to be saying the left winger needs to help Young with Saka and started going on about how he used to do it. Villa don’t even play with wingers?! Keown pointed it out that it’s a tactical flaw from Gerrard and ol Gabby shut up after that. How does this cunt get paid for his insight?
-
Is it just me. Or is the atmosphere totally flat at Villa Park? Early kick offs often are. But it is so quiet bar the odd chant aimed at the ref.
-
I hope so. Considering what we spent in January just to stay up, plus the deals involving big money that didn’t quite come off (Lingard, Botman, Carlos etc). Then if the owners are serious about kicking on. Surely we’ll be spending £100m plus in the summer?

I said red in real time and I definitely thought it was seeing the first few replays. I was surprised that VAR told Pawson to look at it and send him off, though. I feel like players get away with those ones quite a lot. Last one that was kind of similar that I remember was Xhaka. But his was less forceful, but from behind.

You managed to finally get home at least Agree with this, BTW. I was absolutely fuming after the game. Took me ages to get to sleep. But I’ve calmed down a bit now I’ve looked at the bigger picture.
-
I agree with this. I was saying to a mate last night. Whilst you would like another CB to come in and a DM. The starting defence and the midfield options look pretty strong by our current standards, I think. Yet our front 3 is just toothless when it comes to goals and regularly creating chances. A centre forward that is fit for more than half a season and a wide forward type should be priority and I think they will be. You’d massively upgrade the team with a GK, DM and two new attacking players.

Oh and just to add. I like watching Leeds and feel like they are a Premier League club. I’m sick of watching Burnley and their brand of football. Norwich are the new West Brom. Boing boing. Fuck off. Watford, as harsh as it sounds. Just feel like such a nothing club. No idea what their identity is as a team or what their owners are trying to do there. Those 3 to go down is fine by me. Although Everton would be hilarious. The boos at Goodison would cause an earthquake on Merseyside.

Just watched the Wolves v Leeds highlights. The state of the defending for pretty much all of the goals it was like those blooper reels you see at the end of the season. But it was all from the same game.
-
It was a collective effort from the pass being slightly risky, to ASM losing out too easily, defenders all pulled out of position, Manquillo not covering. All the way through to Dubravka letting a weak effort in up the middle of the goal. It’s not like it has been a recurring theme under Howe. Our defensive shape has been outstanding. Shit happens. We move on.

He just seems really aggressive with stepping out when pressing or trying to intercept the ball. He is really mobile for a big man. But it is the only time he looks vulnerable, really. He has been rolled a few times when doing it. I guess that is his attitude and also part of what makes him so good, though. He sometimes decides on the high risk/high reward approach.
-
I thought he was tee total?
-
I’m not sure it’s complacency. Off the ball we are light years ahead of what we were doing under Bruce. But even in this run, we haven’t really created much and the scorelines have all been tight. The lack of creativity and goals in the team was evident against Chelsea. But they are a top team. Last night was worse and we seem incapable of working decent openings with the players we have. Everyone was worried about Howe’s defensive record. But it has been the opposite. Bar the odd lapse, we have defended brilliantly as a team. Yet seem lacklustre going forward. I actually see it as a positive. He is making us hard to beat and will have the summer to address the attacking areas with new players and tactics.

It was up the middle of the goal, really. Thought he should have done better with that.
