I think it is because they have so much headroom with PSR, could buy loads of players and pay better wages and he chooses not to. Loads of Spurs mates and they’ve said for a good while he is like a richer version of Ashley. Isn’t their wages to turnover ratio like 46% or something mental like that this season? EDIT: Levy out isn’t new. They’ve disliked/hated him for quite some time and always rears it’s head before Levy then sacks another manager. Before maybe spending a few quid to quiet the fans down

I think it will fall back to how long can he keep getting juice out of Murphy (pun intended) and having Burn playing out of his skin. Schar is slowing a bit. But again, he has gone up a level under Howe. Along with other fringe players like Krafth who come in and never seem to let him down. It just doesn’t feel sustainable and moving forward. Players like Burn, Schar and Murphy will be better as rotation options. With higher quality and younger players coming in. I’m not even trying to diminish their efforts. They’ve been amazing for a lot of the time since Howe arrived. But I just think that is the reality of it.

West Ham need to stop fucking about and stick another one in the onion bag here.

Wan Bissaka seems to have gotten a lot better on the ball this season. Seems like he is trusted as an outlet in this team. Still some questionable stuff in the final third, of course.
-
Is that the “ooooh ooooh oh. We support Palace. Ooooh oooh oooh. We support Palace” one? Sounds like that, anyway. Sounds fucking wank, whatever it is.

Blackburn and Wigan away used to be horrendous for this.

Came in here to say this. No wonder his goal returns have often been so bad. Had acres and he goes for a first time shot that was more like a pass from 20 yards.

I think too many people get caught up with ‘intent’. I don’t think he has gone to do him like that. But you know, he has? Curtis Jones against Spurs. Bruno against Southampton in the semi final. Even Duran on Schar, which was deliberate IMO. They’re all reds whether they meant to catch the player or not.

He’d cost a fortune, no? High profile player and in arguably the team of the season so far. If they were quoting around £50m for Semenyo. Then Kluivert would cost more, I’d say. Doesn’t he play as more of a 10 or LW and all?

I don’t think it’s 6 games, Rod. I didn’t see yesterday. But I thought he was bad against Wolves and he was one of our worst performers against Bournemouth. Still bagged in one of those games, mind and got an assist yesterday I do find him one dimensional and frustrating as a player. More than likely by design with him staying high and not wanting to burn him out. But his defensive work and recovery runs have disappeared out of his game.

I’d argue going to trip someone to stop a counter when the ball is nowhere near. But accidentally catching the player with your studs halfway up their shin. With you then treading on their ankle, is pretty reckless. You see similar ones given when the ball is there to be played. So I genuinely don’t understand why it is seen as so controversial? I’m convinced everyone thought it was for a professional foul at first and they just can’t adjust their opinion. Despite the mounting evidence. Of course their fans and the media are more than happy to carry on fuelling the fire with all the talk of how CONTROVERSIAL it is.

Murphy is arguably better against teams where there will be space in behind to use his pace and not be expected to break down deep defences and control and move the ball in tight areas. He was decent and effective against Liverpool. But I feel the Leicester game was the turning point for his season. He was brutal the first half hour or whatever it was. Then bagged a brilliant goal and a second. Unlucky not to get a hat trick and once they opened up. He looked like he’d score or assist every attack Bar the odd blip. He’s not really looked back since.

Said when we kept getting linked with Dibling that Fernandes is the player I’d rather we go for. Like you allude to. Might be a bit positonless in a Howe system.
-
Very lucky to escape yet another yellow yesterday and possibly a red depending on who’s reffing. Was low with the studs, at least. He is becoming a bit of a liability with some of his bull in a china shop antics. But it is also why I love him.

The Arsenal thing from Sky/everyone is so odd. What’s it all based on?! Was it not just them enquiring in the summer and being told to fuck off and them needing a striker. Has there been anything concrete since? Seems like Sky are playing the role of an Arsenal fanzine and just pushing some weird narrative of Arsenal wanting him and supposedly they will get him in the summer. Despite nothing actually being reported regarding bids, solid interest etc. It’s absolutely mental and has been brought about by PSR making the January transfer window a bit pointless. They just want something to talk about. Cunts.

“Live TV is Live TV. Here at Sky. We are told to push this made up story of Isak to Arsenal every hour. We’ve even got Nas on the Cricket and John Part on the darts to mention it whenever they can.” What a weapon.
-
Nobody has ever looked as impressed with themselves. As that cunt does every time he appears on Sky. Smug prick.

Not a criticism of him per se and like I said. No issues if it is unchanged. I just thought he was very bad (who wasn’t) defending space and against any kind of movement last week and again down at Fulham. Certain games suit certain players. Like today. Botman was never going to start over him when they have an 8ft striker Burn has been brilliant this season. He still has his strengths and weaknesses and Botman is clearly the long term choice at LCB.

11 in 29 (first season in the Prem and spent a lot of it injured) 25 in 40 *19 in 25 and counting Ridiculous numbers.

Was Veltman the one who got away with the handball at SJP in our game this season? If so, no such luck today.
-
Sels back to his NUFC form today. Awful for the 4th and could have got to the 5th.
-
Hopefully going to this. Fulham have been decent this season and whilst we weren’t in form. They beat us with ease down there. Assuming it will be unchanged again and no issues with that. Although Joelinton isn’t performing well at the minute. But I wouldn’t be against Botman coming in for Burn. He had a mare in the away game from memory and their movement and pace in their attack could maybe cause him issues again.
