  1. Scored a few since and all. Palace, Liverpool, another game I forget against who where we did that back post set piece routine to him that worked a few times last season. I’m sure there is another I’ve forgotten.
  2. He’s my favourite player. I can’t keep showing such favouritism every week
  3. Nah. Was at Southampton for a bit and is now playing for Everton.
  4. It doesn’t have to be a Newcastle game. Any game he is on. He just takes any fun out of it. A pure joy vacuum. He fancies himself as a bit of a comedian and all. But he’s painfully unfunny. Sounds like it’s a chore for him to be there.
  5. Lee Dixon is just a bellend, full stop. Put it on mute if he’s commentating. Cure for insomnia that cunt.
  6. Agree. It wasn’t just the Barnes goal though. There were just loads of times throughout said 120 minutes. Where he was singing their praises and it seemed really jarring with the timing of his comments. They’d often come when we were having a spell of dominance.

    Nick Woltemade

I don’t think it is as black and white as who is a replacement for who. Both are different players to who they replaced and Woltemade has a very different profile to both. He is such a unique and talented player. I think we should really persevere with him and try and adapt our game to suit, the same as he needs to make adjustments and to improve certain parts of his game. He can be frustrating at times. Very lax on the ball and when trying to get on the end of chances. Would like to see a bit more fire from him. But he seems a very laid back and chilled guy personality wise and it plays out like that on the pitch. I want him going a bit Shearer/Diego Costa on some CB’s
  8. Oh 100%. Plenty of pundits don’t like us. But the main commentator is usually pretty neutral and not biased. I do think Fletch off TNT likes us. But he’s just an excitable bloke that seems to just love football and cheers for everyone. Co-comms will always be a mixed bag. Between not giving a shit or trying to hide some kind of bias. I felt like this guy was regularly waffling on about how great Bournemouth were. Even after we started turning the screw after the bad opening. He was going on and on about how great Bournemouth had been and that they were unlucky not to be ahead. He was the same in extra time and also sounded a bit gutted when Barnes scored his second

    Joe Willock

I used to be part of the very small Joe Willock fan club on here. But he was dreadful today. Doesn’t help with how he shows for the ball or the runs he makes. He never seems to see the easy pass or holds onto it for too long. Any technique he had in an attacking sense, has totally deserted him. No idea who’d buy him or what we’d get. But he needs a fresh start somewhere and to be playing semi-regularly. He looks shot to bits and like he’s not enjoying it. I’m certainly not enjoying watching him.
  10. Think it would have been. Think everyone got this guy and Darren Ambrose on co-comms.

Just came in here to say this. It was so deliberate and he must have known Tonali was running off him. Very intelligent player. I just wish he’d be a bit more aggressive and purposeful at times.
  12. Anyone else think the commentator was clearly biased towards Bournemouth today? Seemed a bit gutted they lost and wouldn’t stop going on about their missed chances. Like they were really hard done by. They had more shots on target and were wasteful. But we missed more than our fair share and all.
  13. His lack of seemingly any fast twitch muscle fibres are a God send Can run all day and has been available almost every game since signing. It’s pretty amazing that he is as good as he is. When you factor in his physical limitations and how he struggles with striking a ball. Yet he is still world class and one of our best ever players.
  14. He did the same in the week and all. He changed the game in our favour again. But please keep him off pens. I’m sure a fair few said that after the Leeds game
  15. He’s gonna score a screamer soon. Went close with that free kick and even the ones that flew over. He caught hold of it well. Must have the hardest shot in the squad?
  16. His engine is unreal. Still making lung busting runs deep into their half after 120 minutes. Ropey first 10 minutes. But was brilliant after that. Probably MOTM?
  17. He’s always been more about what he brings on the ball and in an attacking sense. Even Spurs supporting mates used to say his defending wasn’t the best. Nor was he the quickest. He’s still aggressive as fuck and it works at times. But he’s made a habit of over-committing to challenges, mostly headers and getting nowhere near them. Usually meaning there is then acres in behind. He’ll still have a part to play and I thought he was mostly good in the final third. Wissa and Woltemade didn’t help him much in that regard. We didn’t attack the box well first half.
  18. I can see both sides mate. That was I think the 4th time this afternoon I was wondering when Ramsdale might come into frame. But he just never appeared. I think a couple of his saves were from him just not coming out in the first place. However, at that stage of the game. You can’t sort of try and shepherd the player and shield the ball for such a long time. I felt like he had ample time to get to the ball and just clear his lines. Both take some blame. But Botman could have dealt with it to stop Ramsdale’s shit positioning from mattering. Thiaw doesn’t help matters, either. Sort of just wanders over in his own time and doesn’t do anything “Alright lads. What’s going on here then…. Ah fuck. They’ve scored.”
  19. Hope he plays the 4-2-3-1 again. We looked good in possession and passing it about for the first 50-60 odd minutes or whatever it was. Didn’t create loads. But we had made 7 changes and were missing plenty of players who would have helped in that regard.

    Harvey Barnes

I think he has improved his play outside of just running in behind, shooting and crossing whenever he gets a chance. His hold up play was good at times, he was showing the odd bit of skill, tracked back, played first time crosses from the right and decent little lay offs. He just always seems to be involved in some way with the chances we have. I think he’s actually got better this season.
  21. Mainly very good. Caused them no end of bother, was direct and a great assist. Ice cold for the pens, too. Was it his pass that Woltemade left for Tonali’s run for the penalty, as well? His passing is generally ropey as fuck, mind. When he plays on instinct, taking his man on, quick give and go, out his feet and a cross. He can be unplayable. But when he wants time on the ball and to slow it down. He becomes a hinderance with his wayward passing. The one across the face when they nearly scored and another where he hung onto it for about 20 touches, didn’t get anywhere, got loads beyond the ball. Then he passed it straight to them and they countered again. I know I do single him out a bit. But it’s because I genuinely don’t think he is good enough to try and be this technical player and wish he would stick to what he’s good at.
  22. Has he become a bit injury prone? He’s missed quite a few games for us now hasn’t he? I don’t think he’s looked anywhere near his best since his last injury, either. Lacked his usual pace and quickness when defending 1 v 1. Really could have done with him against City, mind.

    Nick Woltemade

Yeah. I hope we see that again at times. I thought we looked better on the ball in general. Found it easier to work space and find a man.
  24. What?! Not a chance. Isn’t the agreed fee like £20-25m?! You could pick up a keeper for pennies as our number 2 who would be just as good for that role.
