Comfortable on the ball and passing it about. He was crap at launching it, though. Was aimless as fuck. He was a bit flappy at corners and got away with a couple. But got a decent punch on the ball a lot of the time and did well for most of them. I didn't watch last night and think I'm gutted we missed out on Trafford, per se. But it did make me think we would have been a lot better this season with a keeper that is better in possession. Just not Ramsdale, as he always seems flustered and just isn't a good keeper. So it's hard to watch him and get an accurate preview on life with a 'better' keeper. As there are so many other shortfalls in his game.

He was brilliant. Refs really seem to indulge him when he’s already been booked. Either that or they’re just shit scared of him. He genuinely looked like he wanted to take Silva’s head off. He was better on Saturday in the deeper, more central role. Got on the ball more. But it was still good to see him coming short for it and demanding the pass. It was the best he’s been defensively, for sure. Promising that he’s had two positive games on the spin. Hopefully he can kick on from here. As the usual midfield 3 will need rotation and Miley is needed at right back. Based on the last two games. I’ve no issue with him starting and wouldn’t be worried if he was.

He had a pass well intercepted near the end and the crowd went mental. Also played one back to Tonali, which I thought was totally fine. As had a man behind him and one blocking the pass on the turn. Crowd went ape shit, again. It certainly can’t help. He looks shot to bits.

But for which club? That is the question

He is another on a long list of NUFC players who isn’t the best on the ball. His touch, link up play and passing is often lacking. Offside as much as Cisse and all. But he does suit the system and helps stretch the play. I think he’ll be far better next season with some proper time on the training pitch to get up to speed. Fitness wise and also getting used to the tactics and his role.

What a fucking player man. Just casually skinning their players for fun, then getting hacked and the ref refuses to book them. Brilliant all over the pitch today. A special player who I just hope can stay fit and have the career he deserves. Not even trying to be negative. But he feels a level above us, even. Think the big boys will come sniffing around soon enough.

I thought it was more of a foul than offside. No intention of playing the ball. Seemed like his role was to just be a blocker and try and push Thiaw into Pope. Arsenal do it every week and get away with it.

He won’t score if he doesn’t shoot. Even on that diving header. I felt like he could have got to that if he attacked it with more intent. I know you can’t change someone’s approach and personality. But he just lacks a bit of fire and aggression that I think would make him great.

I thought he was good until the last couple of minutes. Made a top save from the deflection and probably saved a goal sweeping up on Haaland and the one when Haaland played someone in and he was off his line in a flash. People blaming his shank for the goal are fucking hilarious they’ve then walked through us with ease and scored untouched and uncontested. If you want to have a go at his positioning for that second goal and the fact you’d expect him to save those with his feet. Then that’s an argument I can get on board with. He’s better than Ramsdale and I don’t think it’s close. We need a new keeper in the summer. But we all keep saying that. Trafford looked decent. Very good on the ball and ok’ish on corners.

Nah. Never felt like it. Wissa has been snatching at everything of late. Woltemade doesn’t shoot. The header from Wissa and Bruno’s shot in the same passage of play was as close as we came.

Hard to be too critical all things considered. But the tie was probably over at 1-0. It’s definitely over now. We huffed and puffed. But never really looked like scoring. Didn’t take the chances and half chances when they fell our way either.
