Oh well. At least it wasn’t City away. Fun while it lasted

Never stood a chance out the gate. Especially with shithouses like Bellingham and Vinicius. Courtois a prick and all.
-
I for one am shocked that a young manager that has a unique way of playing. Didn’t manage to make it work with a squad littered full of entitled diva cunts
-
I didn’t realise that prick Smith started sshhing the crowd and cupping his ear after his pen. Whoops
-
Yeah. His early technique and not looking at the keeper at all scared the shit out of me. As it seemed like if the keeper goes the right way. He is easily saving it. They’re not like that at all now.
-
I've gone from shitting myself when he takes a penalty, to being quietly confident. He has really worked on his technique. Hits it with a lot more power and/or whip than before. They're often right in the corner and unsavable even if the keeper goes the right way.
-
He has scored quite a few braces for us now, hasn't he? I think it is 4 already this season. Plus Man U last season, West Ham the season before off the top of my head and probably another one I've missed. Looking forward to him bagging a hat trick. Tomorrow night would be a good time to get one.

Doesn't seem like Howe was as keen on it as I was..... From .com

Shame Carrick is taking that job, as I quite like him. Or at least I did as a player. Hopefully he is just as shit as the last however many managers it has been and they drop down the table.

Always good to see Real Madrid lose. TCD will be gutted his number one team lost.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Lush Vlad replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
I can’t believe there is any discussion around signing Ramsdale as our number 2. For what we’d have to pay as a fee and in wages. It would be a complete waste of money. £10m would be too much, considering we need 2 keepers and whatever the price. He isn’t good enough. 50% save percentage in the league and a load of other terrible looking metrics. He plays smaller than he is, he’s always rooted to the spot. What are people seeing exactly?! -
Better than the usual shite mumble rap he goes with, for sure.
-
It’s a ridiculous comparison and frankly an insult to such a Godlike player. Hall is far better than Messi.
-
Old video isn’t it? Sure I’ve seen that before and it looks like they’re playing Chelsea.
-
I think we can get at their defence, for sure. We usually create chances at SJP and have caused them problems at times in most of the home games since Howe has been here. Usually against much tighter City teams and stronger defences. They’ve looked open in all the games I’ve seen them in in the league this calendar year. So I hope we go for it in attack. It’s our defence I worry about. Miley has been brilliant, but he’s not a natural fullback and this will he his biggest test by far. Thiaw and Botman are not looking quite as flawless as they both have in the past. Hall is more about his attacking play and ability on the ball than his out and out defensive work. We really could have done with Tino being fit, along with Burn and/or Schar. I think we might sneak a narrow win. But not sure that will be enough for the second leg.
-
Not sure I can see another 8 league goals. Especially with Wissa back and him possibly playing more as a second striker/10 behind him and/or spending more time on the bench. That said, if he does play that role a bit more. I think he can start getting more assists, for sure. Should have had 2 yesterday and his dummy for Tonali’s penalty shows how clever he is with his play. He’ll get better as the team evolves around him and he continues to improves with age and experience. There were a couple of old pros on the radio the other day talking about Sesko and Gyokeres. Saying for foreign players, you almost need to allow a year of 18 months before you can form a solid opinion one way or the other. I think Woltemade hit the ground running and exceeded expectations with his goalscoring and is now a bit of a victim of his own success.
-
From my POV, I’m not basing my opinion of him on yesterday’s game alone. I think that would be foolish in the extreme to do so. But what I saw was nothing new from him. He has been sluggish ever since his various injuries. He’s not as agile and gets done by simple runs far too often. He’s been slowed by the knee issues and I don’t feel that’s a particularly controversial take. I don’t think he is finished or a bad player. He had some great games in a back 3 earlier this season and in Europe. I just think he has become injury prone and is a good way off his old self. I hope he can stay fit and healthy for a long while now and he can rediscover some form. As it sounds like we’re giving him a new deal. So we need to support and back him.

Hurst does speak well. But I’d rather go to my 18 month old for tactical analysis. Mentioned numerous times about Joelinton and ASM being left footed a few years back. What are you even watching to think that?! I listen to TF. They put out game reactions very quickly. Some stuff I agree with and some of them are fine on there. But it seems to be the same bunch of late. Charlotte is atrocious and always on. So many words and urms and errs without saying anything. There is a new’ish one who just moans about anything and everything. He also has an incredibly annoying voice, which makes it worse. Reminds me of Craig Hope Said it before. But I can’t get on with All With Smiling Faces. Seem like top fellas, unlike most the TF lot. But the format doesn’t work for me. Just like mates in a pub and they get bogged down squabbling over menial stuff for ages.
-
I don’t think he looked lacking in confidence. He was happy to receive the ball under pressure and was demanding it a lot of the time. Even in tricky situations deep in our half. On the attacking stuff. He played some nice passes and made some quality runs early. Kroupi should have been booked for hacking him down. The stuff around the edge of their box maybe he could take more risks, look to get a shot off or try and find that through ball. But it could be his own decision making process once he has surveyed the situation. Is that he’d rather retain possession and sustain attacks. It could also be an instruction from Howe. We only really have Bruno who regularly looks to thread the needle or who does it with any kind of success. I thought he was very good in possession. Our best player first half and one of the better performers overall before he went off.

More than promising. He’s been better than both our keepers this season. -

But even so. Is £20-25m for a number 2 who fans seem to be fairly unanimous on, in regards to him not being very good. A good use of funds in this PSR day and age? Absolutely not, would be my view. -

Poor old Ramsey. I thought he played well and all -

Botman should clear it before any of that happens. It’s mainly on him. But Ramsdale is glued to his line as per usual. -

Again. On what planet should we be paying the rumoured £20-25m for a backup goalkeeper, who isn’t very good? £15m is too much on what I’ve seen. Spend what, £50m plus on two GK’s this season? That’s mental and not a good use of funds. Pope can stay as backup if he is happy to and a new number one should be signed.
