Don't really agree with any of that. Sissoko looks dreadful as a 10 and has been playing pretty well most games out on the right. Wijnaldum hasn't looked comfortable in a 2. Shelvey left Swansea as he doesn't want to play deeper. Wijnaldum would want to push on, as well. Perez is a striker, who looks uncomfortable tracking back. We have managed to counter this when on the left, as Dummett doesn't get forward. With Janmaat on the right with Perez, we'd get carved.

I think that Costa injury might have blown any chances of a Remy deal going through unless the Pato deal is still on. He's back training, isn't he? Not like that complete and utter shithouse to fake something It's just a hunch, but I think we'll get Remy. He'd be my number one choice, as I think he's exactly what we need and he's done it for us already.
-
Of those who are continually linked and that we have a reasonable chance of getting. My priority would be Remy. Berahino if there is any chance they will deal south of £20m, wouldn't be the end of the world. Gayle and Gomis would be a bit meh. Gayle could actually help out, mind. I have never liked Gomis, since we were linked with him all those years ago. Looks like an absolute cart horse to me. All in on Remy. In the short term, I think he'd see us stay up fairly easily and he'd be pretty low risk for the club. As I am guessing it would just be a loan.

Looks like a darts player. That or a character from Phoenix Nights.

Doesn't really work, when despite our shitness for years on end. They still somehow manage to be equally as shit, if not worse.

There team actually looked pretty strong TBH. 6-0 is still absolutely pathetic
-
I wonder if they'll claim this as some record? In the same way they still go on about the 9-1. "Biggest derby victory post WWII marra. 6-0. FTM."

I think blame should be apportioned to both sides. Not sure if it would be an equal share, but both sides have fucked up big time. The club were stupid enough to pursue a player, who wasn't in any sort of form, looked unsuited to English football and allegedly wasn't even keen on coming here. Certainly looks to be the case, TBH. McClaren has then barely played the bloke. After it has become apparent that we have slightly better options in front of him and after he's not really shown a great deal when he's actually had the chance. He then gets some stick off the fans at Watford. There's supposedly a bit of a fallout, Thauvin goes crying back to OM, asking them to take him back. It doesn't sound like there were any discussions to reconcile their differences, or much of a fight to keep him. Thauvin is just as guilty of deciding he's had enough so early on in his career here. We then go and spend ANOTHER £12m on Townsend. Thauvin fucks off home. What. A. Mess

That's really interesting. The second paragraph in particular. I don't like how it's an old boys network over here. Sharing the same agents and being pals with a lot of current managers. You just get pundits staunchly defending the indefensible. Of course the big 4-6 clubs are favoured massively, whereas a lot of the smaller teams get a lot of heat from these so called 'pundits'. The written press are just as bad. So much sensationalism and doubles standards. -

I'm sure there was someone on here, that was saying it was an easy/safe choice for Neville? Doesn't appear that way now! The majority said it was a huge job to be taking on. I might be totally wide of the mark, VI. But are media and the fans alike in Spain, far less unforgiving and ruthless than in England? Maybe it's just watching Real Madrid every week, watching a bit of Revista and reading Marca English (is that like your version of The Sun? ) has made me think this way. -
I guess it will be that to. Not sure Andros will start at Everton, mind. Oh and Everton have actually been quite poor at home. Been better on the road, I think. Plus they've just had a lot of fixtures, got a couple of injuries against Swansea and just went out of a cup semi-final. So it's a good time to be playing them. Although a lot of people said similar before we played Watford...... 3-0 Everton

Pickford; Matthews, Kirchhoff, Beadling, Yedlin; Toivonen, Rodwell; Johnson, Lens, Watmore; N'Doye Assume Fletcher came on for N'Doye at some point Isn't that their first team? I wouldn't have said so. But I recognise more names in that lineup, than in ours Assuming it's the Johnson of the alleged nonce variety. I've heard of all of those players, except Beadling They have two new January signings and players that have actually been playing games reasonably regularly for the first team. We had a load of shit, bar Aarons and maybe Taylor and Lascelles. Can you count Riviere and Marveaux as first team squad players? Seems like they have a lot more depth than us and took it bit more seriously.

Sorry to go all ITK, but I did actually hear from a couple of people that HBA wasn't that well liked in the dressing room. Not that I gave a fuck or that it changed my opinion of him. Every team I have ever played for, there has usually been at least one diva/arrognat fucker/all round bellend etc. If they're good enough, then who cares? You're not going to get a squad full of model pros and nice guys. Unlike the HBA situation, I'd hardly call Thauvin a flair player. In his limited time, he looked slow and weak and didn't really do a lot. Whereas HBA had proven time and again, that he could be our match winner and make things happen. The only similarities I see are that they're French, can play out wide and both have played for Marseille. I don't think the situations are comparable. I don't like how Thauvin was used as a scape goat by our fans. He shouldn't be shouldering much of the blame, when there have been players playing week in, week out, who have been utter tripe. Who are seemingly getting a free pass with a lot of our 'fans'. But I also don't like how he's cried off at the first sign of trouble and I don't buy that it's all the clubs doing. I fail to see why they'd sanction a £12m deal on someone, then 6 months later, fabricate a load of stories, just so they can ship him out on loan and then probably lose a shit load of money on him? Makes no sense whatsoever.

If this is true, this really does go to show how pathetic our club is. The stiffs, youth team and first team are all tragic.

We don't need a new striker. I mean, this bloke has been awful in general play for quite some time now and his goal return hasn't exactly been amazing the last season or two. But the club won't care. Need to get Remy or someone in. Don't think Cisse is the answer and gave up on him ages ago. Mitro isn't the answer yet, either. EDIT: It seemed he scored 11 in 22 last season? Can't say I noticed, as he has looked awful for a long while. But that is a good return TBF.
-
cabella had more chances to play in a team that wasn't half as rancid as this one before he got that injury iirc thauvin has started 3 and had 10 sub runouts for 420 mins or so of league action in one of the worst teams in the division Disagree. The squad was awful last season. Not that it's much better this year, mind. We've been shit for quite some time.

They already have Vardy, who is going to start when fit. That Asian guy who's name I can't spell, Ogasaki is it? Didn't they spend a bit on him and he's performing quite well? Plus Ulloa, who is a pretty solid player and they use him to see games out and as a target man, I believe. I think they only usually play with one up top, as well? He arguably has as much chance of minutes at Chelsea, as he does there. If he is genuinely concerned about playing time, then I think he would look to come here. We only have one genuine striker, who isn't actually scoring goals. Plus we usually play a formation that could also see him start on the left. All that said. Leicester have been great this season and I'm sure he'd rather play for Ranieri and a team challenging for the title. Rather than the beetroot faced farmer and a team fighting relegation (again).
-
I agree with TCD...... What a waste of time and money. Guilt should be apportioned to both sides. But it was constantly mentioned that he didn't want to come here and that he hadn't even been playing well in France. Yet we spunked a lot of money on him anyway. Then proceeded to not play him for whatever reason. Now he's off 6 months. What a mess.
-
That is awful. Sounds exactly like how it was here. What was it, 4 days working on defending and a 'gameplan' for the opposition. 1 day spent on attacking, with John 'Lasagne Face' Carver? Unfortunately, I think Adebayor will be a good signing for them in the short term. He seems to get motivated for a bit, then go back to being shit. He had a spell at Spurs, when Sherwood was manager, where he came back from doing fuck all and not playing. To leading the line and banging in goals for fun. Then disappeared again. Hopefully I'm wrong, mind. I don't know the last time he played and I'm not sure he'll be that interested playing for The King and his Palace.

Yeah. Now that it seems like he's coming. I'm of that opinion. I just wanted to join in with the nonplussed gif responses!
