  1. TCD's made his point. Just nobody is quite sure what his point is? Or in fact, what is the point in TCD
  2. Everton have actually been pretty bad and inconsistent at home. I think we've been the worst away team in the league, mind I'd take a draw. Hopefully with some promising signs from the new players and a goal from Wijnaldum would be nice. He needs to start influencing games away from home, if we're to start picking up points on the road.
  3. Pretty Good. Like a 7-8/10. I thought we'd only get a couple in, so I'm quite pleased with it. But I still feel we're a bit short and maybe missed out on 1-2 players, that we really could have done with. I think if we were never linked with Berahino and a left back, I wouldn't really have worried about it. As they said for ages we weren't looking at strengthening the defence. So I'd kind of given up on that. Plus, we managed to get Doumbia and Townsend, both of who will play somewhere in the front 3-4. An area where we already have a few options. So I wasn't thinking we needed another striker on top of that. But hen you get linked with exciting players like that and miss out. It's always a bit disappointing. Still haven't addressed the horrific defence and we still don't really have a striker, that has consistently performed or scored on a regular basis in England. All in all, I'm happy with how it went and I think we have signed enough players to keep us up. A bit of a gamble not addressing the back four, though. We concede some awful goals and that won't change anytime soon.
  4. I voted no. But it's a tough one. What is the point of surviving, if it's just going to be another relegation scrap next year? Premier League football is all well and good. But if you've got an owner that has complete disdain for cup competitions. An owner who appoints shithouse managers, straight from the scrapheap and then 'backs' them, with one of the worst transfer policies going. An owner who doesn't give a shit about trying to actually compete in the league, merely do the bare minimum to stay in it. Then as a fan, what is the point? We have to be happy with just stopping up every year? How incredibly pathetic and small time. I was absolutely devastated when we went down. Even shed a few tears the next day, although the two day hangover may have had something to do with it. This time, I'm not sure I'd even be arsed. It would totally serve Ashley right and it may even slightly increase the chance of him fucking off.
  5. The Jose of 5 years ago? I'd love him back. The current waste of space, shower of shite Enrique? No tah.
  6. That only means it's been delivered man. Do you ever get bored of constantly being wrong all the while?
  7. The cynic in me suggests they've waited until later than required, to announce this and the Doumbia signing. Positive news on deadline day and I'm fairly happy if this is the last thing we do this window. But it doesn't change the fact that we're still a defender or two short and don't have a proven striker in the squad.
  8. Good use of the Canary Islands flag by our social media team
  9. So he could have 88 Like a dog with a bone over some trivial shit. Standard samb.
  10. Can't do that in PL Sure about that? Bendtner wore 52. Yeah and he was stopped from going higher. You could only have number #88 if you already have 87 players registered. That's why city have some with high numbers (Iheanacho with 72 for example), they register all their kids. eh? You saying Newcastle have 44 players registered letting Mitro take 45? Not sure about that like http://www.nufc.com/2015-16html/app-goals.html Judging by the players with squad numbers that appear on this list, it doesn't seem like it's that far fetched?
  11. Playing at Notts County and doing fuck all, I think.
  12. Not realistic is it, no manager in their right mind would drop down from the top willingly. People say this all the time but he's not alone, Mourinho and Ancelotti etc do the exact same thing. It's like people saying Messi has to move to a lesser team, to prove he's the best in the world. Why? The best players, want to play for the best teams, surely? Think that stems from the fact Maradona carried teams by himself in his career more so than the fact that Messi plays for the best team in the world. The comparison for Messi is Maradona, and I assume people feel they can't make that comparison if they haven't done the same s***. You know, I almost included this in my original post. But thought it is so obvious that times have changed massively, so it's not really comparable. How many top top world class players, are signing for lesser teams? As in top 5-10? Not many. I don't like trying to compare 'the best ever' across generations, anyway. Plus, I wasn't around back then. So it's impossible for me to judge. Anyway, I digress. There are a lot of red top fan types in this country. That seem to genuinely believe the PL is the best thing ever and Messi isn't worthy of being called the best in the world, until he has played here and dealt with physical teams, or until he has done it for another club other than Barca. I've seen it used in the Ronaldo argument plenty of times and personally, I just don't buy it as a reason. The original point Mole made and that I followed with the Messi example, is applicable to a lot of sports and scenarios. Like I'm big into my horse racing, everyone now seems to be saying Ryan Moore is the best jockey in the world. People reply with "yeah, but he gets to ride the best horses." Yes, because he's the best FFS. Hence why he gets picked to ride the short priced, well fancied favourites, for the best trainers around. It's hardly like his agent is phoning round asking "are you interested in booking Ryan for your 33/1 outsider for the derby?" It's no different with top players and top managers.

  14. His failed his medical The results revealed that he has rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's disease.
  15. Not played since FM13. But I see Football Manager still massively overrate our players SSN using FM stats is absolutely horrendous and all.
  16. I thought Mbmeba claiming to be 21 looked a bit dodgy. But Doumbia looks about 50
  17. He's basically Haidara I take it you mean he's injury prone like Haidara? Not that he's the same as Haidara in terms of ability?

    Loïc Remy

There has to be a cut-off at some point in the window, where we decide to give up on Berahino and go to plan B, C, D, E or whatever back-up option we're now on. I'm guessing Doumbia is signing regardless of who else comes? If WBA really are going to keep playing hardball on Berahino and refuse to sell. Then we need to leave a bit of time to sign Remy or whoever else we have in mind for the position. I'm sure they've already tried it and I doubt it would even work. But there should be a time in mind to issue an ultimatum to WBA, with a take it or leave it bid. Before we decide to look elsewhere.
  19. Not sure how I feel. I usually just ignore deadline day and always hated all the hype. Jim White carrying on like a loon, loads of reporters stood outside training grounds, trying to talk up any little rumour. Odemwingie turning up at QPR and getting locked out It used to do my head in. Now we're involved. I'm pretty intrigued. I'm sure it will be a massive let down and we'll just sign Doumbia. Wouldn't be a terrible window if that were the case. So I'm just going to lower my expectations to that, to avoid disappointment.

    Loïc Remy

would still be my First choice. I think he would be mine, as well. Although the more I watch of Berahino, the more I like him. Wasn't really that arsed before, but some pretty ruthless finishing from the clips I've been watching and love his movement and pace. But it does seem like he won't end up here. So are we looking to sign two strikers? Definitely need to sign at least one that can play in a wider position IMO. We know Remy can and it sounds like Doumbia can, as well. Whether either of them will want to play there, is another matter. I don't want them to just abandon Mitrovic and bench him for the rest of the season. Even though he is struggling for goals, I still think he brings a lot to the team. I can't see us bidding £10m for Remy TBH, But then I never thought we'd be bidding so much for Berahino, either!
  21. Do they want £25m or £30? We're getting closer, either way. 18, 21, 24.....
  22. If he isn't better than Dummett he wants to try another career tbh. what is it they say on twitter these days? Dave has no chill. Got a point.
  23. So Balague saying he has offers from elsewhere and it isn't 100%? Ryder and Douglas, still maintaining he would only be a backup option and signed to provide cover (how the fuck would they know) If he's worse than Paul Dummett at left back, what is the point in signing him? Unless of course, Dummett's injury is worse than first feared.
  24. You might be thinking of Viktor Orban. He has been in the media recently, to do with the migrant crisis.
