  1. Nah. He is far from great with his left. But the fact he actually uses it now and then means he’s better than Almiron on his weaker foot. Got an assist with his cross-cum-shot last week with his swinger.
  2. Nketiah has always looked a good player. But turns into Riviere when he gets near the goal.
  3. I know I’m getting old. As I have no clue what you’re on about here
  4. Well. You know what that means then
  5. Haha. No way. He’s pinched his geps What did Delap do?
  6. Botman more mobile than given credit for pre-knee injury. Hopefully he can begin to get back to that form in time. He was much better at closing down space or following his man and pressing the same way Burn and Schar often do now. Guehi also has a lot more pace than our CB’s, along with being great on the ball. So makes sense we went for him.
  7. Oh really? That’s great news. Would cause Schar problems with his physicality and Burn issues with his directness.
  8. Difficult trade off. As you will always leave gaps with an all out press. It is risk/reward. It’s like blitzing in American Football or Rugby. It leaves space in behind. But when you get it right, it is worth the risk and some teams favour it more than others and have the right players for it. I know we get caught too often when the press doesn’t get home or the triggers or players are the wrong way round. I saw Gordon and Isak arguing about it, for example. But I think yesterday we just went even more balls to the wall than usual. As we realised they offered pretty much fuck all going the other way and weren’t good enough on the day to consistently pass round the press. We play a lot better when we get the chance to play with high intensity, press high up and stay in games level or have a lead. The fact we have moved away from that for a lot of this season and the fact we seem to concede sloppy goals early on, along with us rarely scoring before the half hour mark. Has highlighted some glaring weaknesses with our personnel and tactics.
  9. Ipswich the harder game IMO. Half keep an eye on them as I have a few mates that support them and it is about an hour from me. They’re better than their results suggest. Often competing in games and they have been hit by late goals too often. Which has stopped them pulling away. A lot of draws, too. Throw in the fact we’re not great away from home. Then I think it’ll be tough. I think we’ll do Brentford. Wasn’t particularly impressed by them last weekend and we’re just miles better at home. The way they play should suit us.

I loved Oba Deciding what foot to use during the run up for a pen FFS. Like you say, insane.
  11. He has always come across as a bit of a prick. Read some stuff about when he was a player he was and all. Never understood people saying they liked him. Interviews like that seemed fairly common for him.
  12. It was that one. Just stared for ages. You can hear Mavididi shouting for the ref, then a few Leicester players complain and he blows up 5 seconds later.
  13. I didn’t think the lino flagged did he? Strange if he said something without signalling for a foul. 4th official isn’t allowed to say anything, is he? All seemed a bit odd, to me.
  14. Nah. Should have been off for a second yellow. But maybe he doesn’t make that if he was booked for his dive. Who knows. Mental that the ref decided it was a yellow and a foul, TBH. No way he saw it and just went off Mavididi’s reaction. Seemed like a guess, to me. Even if we did eventually arrive at the correct decision.

I went the other way. I’ve been saying he needs more game time for ages and thought he showed something in the limited minutes he’d had. But I thought he looked terrible. Although replacing Isak isn’t easy and not a fair comparison. Only way he’ll improve is with more minutes. So hopefully we can get a few more scorelines similar to yesterday.

I’m pleased be started linking up really well with Hall. I don’t they’ve gelled well as a partnership at all. He was very good yesterday and unlucky with his shot early on. Generated decent power for a change. Should have had an assist straight after from the corner, too. Agree with those above about away performances and goals. We get the ball to him a lot during games. So something similar to last season’s output for goal involvements would be nice.
  17. I’ve often wondered about this and if it’s kind of similar to something like American Football. Don’t show the ‘trick’ plays and certain parts of your playbook until late in the season or the play offs. As teams will see how you lineup and have tape of your different plays, in this case routines. You don’t want to show your hand or become predictable. Doesn’t fully explain how we go from Arsenal in their current form for set pieces to the Pardew back post set penis routine on repeat. The last few weeks. It feels like we have tried to mix it up a bit, with mixed results. Still had a couple that have turned into dangerous counters for the other team. Plus the aimless punts or regularly over or under hitting corners. But I think we’ve scored 4 of our last 10 league goals from set plays now?
  18. Draw was a better result for us if we’re looking up and not down again, after a win.
  19. Superb from Anderson. Probably rule it out for a foul.
  20. That is never offside. Fucking VAR and offsides.
  21. I think that will be most likely. My issues with that is then the trio on the right are again all massively lacking on the ball. We won’t retain possession or create much. Then on the left. Hall is not going to be offered the protection and legs that the Joes offer. Gordon was noticeably tracking back a bit more today, I thought. But it has seemed like for a while, he stays high. Plus Hall is often up there supporting. So I reckon we’d get murdered for pace that side. Especially if Hutchinson plays there.
