  1. Would rather it was home first, TBH. Think getting something to hold on to and keeping it tight for an away game is preferable. If we need to open up at home to a top team chasing goals. We’ll get picked off. Still, nice problem to have. Actually being in the draw at the business end of a cup competition!
  2. Forster with the 5 a side save when you don’t want to dive on the wet astro
  3. Forster might be worse with his feet than Pope At least wor Nick just spoons it off for a throw most the while.
  4. My favourite moment is when everyone was seemingly shit scared of that bird that had made its way onto the pitch. Oba just went and picked it up and carried it off. My old man who is a bit of an old fenland country boy got dead excited and proclaimed “that’s a bloody woodcock. What’s that doing on the pitch?!”
  5. He lost like all his money, I think. Partly feel sorry for him. As he was clearly done over by dodgy agents and management companies by all accounts. Was owed millions, I believe. He left school at 13 and made it to the top in elite sport. But the stories of £70k a week and then having to borrow money and get loans. Sort of hard to sympathise too much with him
  6. £8.5m would be a great deal. I was thinking he was going to be yet another player that we would basically have to give away and then have to pay 50-75% of his wages. The fact he’s not been playing and has looked so bad the last season or so. I didn’t think anyone would be interested for more than a nominal fee.
  7. Man U are fucking crap. So they’ll win this 2-1 with a couple of late goals.
  8. Pope’s biggest fan on here and don’t rate Dubravka. But I’m not sure a prime Neuer was getting to that through ball. Shit turn over from us and we’re caught square with men up the pitch and out of position.
  9. I don’t think we’ve necessarily solved all of our problems. I’m on record on here saying I have my doubts about Howe turning it around long term. But that is 7 good halves out of 8 (excluding two massive individual errors at Brentford first half). We do still have to improve away from home and I would still worry how we would get back into a game if we go a goal down early. I’ll enjoy the improved performances, the balance to the team, the 12 goals in 4 games and the fact we’re now a threat from set pieces. You do you pal. But I can’t imagine what it must be like being so miserable. Try and look for the positives in another semi-final and some decent games and scorelines from us. You might enjoy yourself. What were you like under Souness/Fat Sam/Pardew/McClaren/most of the last 25-30 years?!
  10. That engine. The commentator was saying how we looked leggy around 92 minutes. During which time Tonali had just sprinted back 30 yards or so. Then hounded the Brentford player all the way to the touchline until he pressured him into losing the ball. Leggy
  11. 2 legs in the semi final lad. Win and a draw it is.
  12. Fucking hell. I thought I was negative. We had plenty of chances from open play where we were a few inches away from a great finish or a well worked goal. Leicester was the same. We’ve had fuck all from set pieces for ages. I’m glad we’re finally scoring from them and causing the other team problems.
  13. Not surprised he was out of position. We were still supporting attacks from the full back positions and Osula gave it away in a dangerous area when we had good possession deep in their half.
  14. That’s why Osula isn’t getting more minutes. His last two cameos have been pretty bad. Lord help us if Isak gets injured…..
  15. The last 4 games. The goals have returned at the very least. Is that 12 in 4 now? The performances in 3 out of 4 have been good and all. Well, 7 halves out of 8, really.
  16. You’d be fucked off as a Brentford fan. No real reason for Frank to make wholesale changes. Massively changed their team and then not turned up and they’ve come up against us on a going night. Lucky it’s not 4 or 5. Have that.
  17. Why? He isn’t a Howe player at all. Almost the polar opposite. Even if you think Mitchell is the main man and calls the shots now and Howe might be going. Even if you imagine for a minute PSR didn’t exist. Why would we be interested in him and why would it be a good signing? Numbers nowhere near his worth and wages. 27 years old, so not much re-sale value if he suddenly became good/started trying again. Off field issues by all accounts. Genuinely interested what reasons people have for him being a good signing for someone?!
  18. I remember as he hit that saying something like “well done. Another shot over the bar from miles out.” Because of the lack of celebration and the speed it went in at. It took me a good few seconds to realise it was a goal
  19. Mad as a box of frogs. Love him
  20. Nah. Think he is very talented. But clearly has issues away from football and in how he applies himself. Sounds like a terrible trainer, out on the smash a fair bit and have you seen him off the ball? Makes ASM look like Kante with his work rate. Can’t be arsed to put effort in for his boyhood club. Why would it be different here or somewhere else? Shame he’s gone down this route. I used to really like him as a player and seemed a great person off the pitch.
  21. I can understand this. Used to be a running joke that I was translator when we were up for a game. I’m not from the NE. But had family that were and also spent a lot of time up there. Happens with loads of accents when people move away, too. Then they go back to a stronger, thicker accent when they’re back home.
  22. The Chelsea game was like basketball at times. So fingers crossed. We were more than in the game against them first 55 minutes or whatever it was the other week. If we could just avoid gifting them 3 goals again. We might be alright tomorrow.
  23. Is it wrong that I immediately thought of this as a genuine possibility when I heard it on the radio this morning?
