State of this World Cup. So many teams
-
Ha. Was there for that also. I remember a lad near us giving it some and saying he’ll get the round in. As he had first scorer (Carroll?) and 5-0. Only for Cardiff to bag a consolation in the 89th

Wasn’t it brought in under Ashley? They extended the L7 family section all the way round to the corner. Clearly to just disband the singing section and stop the nasty songs about the fat cUntroller. I used to have my ST up there and whilst the noise didn’t always carry or encourage others. Been up there with neutrals and they said it was wild up there and loud as fuck. 5-1 sunderland and 4-4 Arsenal were insane. Stupid idea at the time and it still is today. No idea why it’s not been changed.

I like a half time pint. But quite lucky where I am in the Leazes. Can basically leave bang on the half time whistle and you’re served quick enough. Other parts of the ground you’re not so lucky. But people getting up from 35 onwards is proper annoying all the same. Especially when the same fuckers mooch back in on about 49-50 minutes.

From reading bits online from Howe’s presser: Botman out. Had an injection in his back and they need to see how he is in a week. Tonali got a bit of a dead leg. Scan all clear. Might be fit for tomorrow. IMO. A goof game to rest him with the week coming up. Maybe he’ll be on the bench? Wissa got about half an hour in, in another behind closed doors game on Wednesday. Reading between the lines. It sounds like he might be on the bench tomorrow.

Unless he wants to take an incentivised deal or one similar to what he is on now. He shouldn’t be getting a new contract. The fucker is never fit these days and when he is. He doesn’t necessarily start ahead of Burn. That’s not meant as a slight on BDB, BTW. More that I’d imagine he is on more than Burn and Schar. But he isn’t worth that to us currently.

I’d last about 6 months, tops. If the yayo didn’t kill me. The Latinas would

You can usually find him in the Howe thread having a whinge up.

That wanky Spurs equaliser is looking even worse now. Fuck sake Rat Fernandes’ new signature move seems to be blasting it high and wide. Then followed by lifting his shirt up, shouting loads and looking like he’s about to cry. Awful cunt.

His mackems connection doesn’t help. But Diallo is such an unlikeable player. Annoying diving little runt.

Aiming high and missing isn’t always a bad thing. Missing could still mean we’re one of the biggest and best clubs in the world. The Saudis might want to speed things up a bit, mind. Moving at the current coastal erosion/Shola pace. We might get somewhere near by 2050.

I can. The bookies have ignored our away form almost every game this season. We seem to be favourite in nearly every game I look at. We started as favs against Barca FFS Marseille were 2/1 when we played there last week.

Again. How are people forming opinions on his time here one way or the other. When he has played the equivalent of 4 lots of 90 minutes?! Only 2 starts in there and all, the first one he looked decent and was one of our better players in an otherwise poor performance. But he was injured early on and came off at half time I don't think he is the same as Willock or Joelinton at all. He doesn't have the power or defending ability of Joelinton. Or the raw pace and running ability of Willock. However, he is far better on the ball, finds space really well and I think will offer more in attack. Just for whatever reason, he hasn't had a chance to showcase his abilities yet. It's sort of similar to Elanga. Neither have had a run in the side or enough meaningful minutes for them to find some form and us fans to actually have a solid opinion on them. Although granted, Elanga has had a lot more minutes and has had some really crap games, mixed in with some alright stuff.

I do think that because he is slow, because he tries some high risk stuff or maybe the low percentage attacking passes. He gets underrated a bit or not really appreciated enough. He basically plays every minute he can for club and country. He is hardly ever injured. He covers every blade of grass when he is on the pitch, no matter how slowly and he is our talisman. He is a passion merchant with all the ability in the world to back it up. He looks like he should be a skillful luxury player. Yet he plays with as much fire and passion as prime Tiote, Batty or a local lad like Big Dan Burn. He just fully gets it and his workrate is unmatched. I think he is quite unique as a midfielder and if he were to be missing for a long spell or God forbid, he moved onto another club. We'd soon realise how much we miss him.

I might be remembering it wrong and maybe different places use different criteria. But I think that example goes down as one touch? I’m sure that was how Opta did it back in the day. Although watching last night. I can’t remember him getting on the ball more than about 5-6 times. So maybe it is literally per touch

Balls to that. We can beat these. The last 3 league performances we’ve put in would cause them no end of bother. We were hardly bad bar a shocking 5 mins away to Marseille either. All duck or no dinner. Too much pessimism around the derby for my liking.
-
Didn’t he only play about 20 minutes v Liverpool when he looked decent enough. Then got injured v Leeds after playing a half? Not sure there is a big enough sample size before or after the injury. He’s barely got a look in.
-
I see Hearts have already given up their lead in Scotland. Another league title for Celtic, then.
-
He doesn’t go does he? Had it in my head that he played for Belgium for some reason
-
Only 2 of them play regularly, don’t they? Sadiki and the left back whose name I’ve forgotten. Both quality players for them. But I’m not sure how many of the others even get minutes.

Woeful game for 60-70 minutes. Livened up late, at least.
