  1. Its pointless comparing him to someone who clearly doesn't have a future here. As for better.... in our position and with our budget? If he's available and at the right price that we can afford (ha) I'd have him here in a heart beat. That's a key point, for £20m and silly wages there must be better options out there. For me it's not just that, though, i'm not sure he's what we need. We already have Mitro and Joselu in that sort of mould, for me we need someone more mobile who'll work across the line, opening up space and sticking the ball in the net.
  2. That's the sort of price we're going to get quoted for basically any player in the PL. If we're on a limited budget (if ) we're best off looking to some of the other decent European leagues. edit: He's on £100k a week?? Troy Deeney? Insanity.
  3. I'll reserve judgement until we hear what the guys from sassyskyscrapernerds.com make of it.
  4. Because someone from Sports Direct is using personal wealth to buy more shares in Sports Direct. (Is the way I read it anyway) NPW That's not a buy back though, that's just him buying more shares. A buy back is when the company repurchases shares.
  5. I sometimes think Americans don't get just how violent British culture can be
  6. Imagine doing that in the Gallowgate
  7. Ashley isn't the sole owner of SD so him suddenly coming into a large amount of spare cash wouldn't affect them in terms of a share buy back AFAIK unless MASH holdings is a SD subsidiary. He could use the cash to buy back shares privately as any other investor or arrange a loan to SD for the amount to buy back the shares but that'd have to be approved by the board. Although he retains a controlling stake Ashley and SD are separate entities legally, companies do buy backs with cash on hand. Don't know, like, i'm far from an accountant so that might just be nonsense.
  8. Those folks who called us WoW obsessed virgins and nerds were definitely wrong, like.
  9. Yeah, dickheads. After losing 483 games in a row we should all be thinking sunshine and rainbows.
  10. It's not the sort of situation where you expect weekly updates though, is it? They're going to keep working in the background, keeping things quiet until it's finally announced. Let's just be patient and maybe, just maybe, something good might happen for us. Probably not, like, but y'knaa.
  11. Dabizas too. Wasn't the best but had the heart of a lion.
  12. John Beresford, Barry Venison, Rob Lee. None were the best but they're still some of my favourite players. It's not necessarily about ability.
  13. I am tempted to go. Anyone bought tickets in Stoke end before? Yeah, but years ago for the FA Cup game. Just had some racist cunt a few seats behind abusing Duff for most of the game. Everyone else sat on their hands. Best bet is to go in the Q-railing Stand imo. He was racially abusing Duff? As in Damien Duff?
  14. Quite a lot of them over here now. They'll have seen huge growth in the Asian market along with Chelsea. Liverpool seem to be the team dropping in popularity as fan migrate to more successful clubs.
