  1. Attendances and match day revenues are very much dependent on the performance of the team which is very much dependent on, wait for it, the quality of the manager. Despite your apparent intimate knowledge of the training facilities they are top notch, the squad, whilst lacking in areas, is by no means bad, the stadium is one of the best in the country and the manager is a bloke who was sacked by Derby County. Again, one of these doesn't fit.
  2. Are we trying to put them back? Seems it would be easier just to let Derek crock them. Save on bus fares anyway.
  3. You want this thread: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,76584.0.html
  4. None of which were in the point you addressed. In a normal conversation you talk to someone regarding a particular topic and go on from there. Simply saying something completely different in response and then attempting to argue that point doesn't really work. If you have a particular gripe that you'd like to bring up then please feel free to do so in a meaningful and relevant way. Your method of conversation goes: 'I don't really like the new Dolmio bolognese sauce' 'You're wrong, we should do something about the homeless problem'
  5. TCD apparently has trouble understanding that a very well supported football team with very good players and very good facilities might not be best served by a dinosaur manager recently deemed not good enough for Derby County. Further than that he apparently fails to grasp the irony of investing huge amounts of the clubs money in the best players we can afford while arguably the most important position at the club is filled by the cheapest and easiest candidate we could find.
  6. Not really interested in what you 'think'. Gates have dropped but we're still one of the best supported clubs in the country. Don't know about match day revenue as I didn't mention that at all, that's your thing. You seem to have missed my point entirely.
  7. Yes Close enough Do your own homework
  8. 50k+ gates Multi-million £ squad Top class facilities Man sacked by a championship club as manager One of these things doesn't fit.

    Florian Thauvin

He's already passed that as far as I know so basically they've bought him.
  10. In terms of proper quality and assuming Remy is the striker then we'd have four really good options to cover two (maybe three) positions. Mitro, Townsend, Remy and Perez. Remy and Perez can both play as striker or left inside forward with Mitro and Townsend playing striker and left winger. Gives us a lot of options and different ways we can set up plus decent depth (for a change). agree. its nice with options. but you did not mention Aarons, thauvin and De Jong. Getting the squad balance right (hopefully after survival) is a summer job! Lots of work to be done (players to sell) Aarons I think is one for the future. We can bring him off the bench or play him in the cups or send him out on loan. SdJ we can maybe donate his body to science and Thauvin wants off (but he can cover for Sissoko until he goes).

    Papiss Cissé

Just don't let Derek Scissorhands near him again.
  14. If it was a choice between getting this guy or a striker / defender then i'd have chosen the latter but I can see how he could improve us as a team. We've been crying out for some width to stretch games a bit and on that left side we've consistently played forwards who will come inside and look for a pass rather than get down the line and cross. He's left footed and been playing on the right wing so that has probably contributed to his cut in and shoot routine. If we play him on the left I think he'll naturally try and go outside and use his left to get some decent balls in. As previously mentioned, at the worst this will free up space for Sissoko and Janmaat on the right but I can see how this could help Mitros game aswell.
  15. Was just thinking that despite the ~£75m we've spent so far and might increase we're still looking at Colback, Dummett & Colo probably starting every game when fit, Elliot in goals, and fucking Williamson or Taylor an injury away from being back in the team. What a shambles we are. Fucking hell, sounds ridiculous when you put it like that

    Why no playoffs?

Pats went into that game with an 18-0 record. The Giants came in as a wildcard, with a 10-6 record. Oh and no way Eli Manning was/is better than Tom Brady. I have no idea what you're getting at? In what way were they the 'best team?' The best team for that one off game? Yes. Better team and quarterback over the course of 16-20 games? No way. I love the playoff set up for American sports, where you have different conferences and a s*** load of teams. I don't see the need for it in England, when we have league systems that work well, with the current format. The record books show that we won like. The fact you think that's what this argument is about says it all. Yeah. He's either somehow totally missed the point or being a hilarious WUM..... He just wants some time away from the wife. Think the wife gets the best end of that deal tbh.
  18. Cheers, needed something to make me feel old.
  19. Seems a bit silly. Of all the teams they could have chosen they've picked the one most likely to knack a few of our players.

    Steve McClaren

He contracted it out to a Vietnamese sweatshop so we're getting shitty bad quality luck made by poverty stricken 8 year olds.
  21. We looked good with Perez, Wijnaldum and Sissoko as the three behind Mitro with Shelvey and a DM anchoring. Why not just buy another striker to take some of the pressure and reliance off Mitro and stick with that? We have Thauvin to rotate in for Perez, SdJ for Wijnaldum if needed and, well, don't get injured, Moussa. If we're going to spend another £14m we could get a pretty decent striker for that, shirley.
  22. How is this not the usual transfer bullshit? He's said he won't come and there's zero chance of this transfer happening. It's the exact same 'we tried' transfer bullshit we've had for years.

Kaizero clearly an American wannabe. You're a scando, accept it and move on.
  24. Your mates version: 'Mr Shelvey, have you possibly considered adding loft to the ball so that your set piece may more effectively bypass their first line of defence?' Reality: 'How, Shelvey, ya bald cunt. Put some fucking height on it man, your corners are shite. Stupid twat.'
