So what's the lineup? Shelvey and Colback deep?
-
You've lost hope

Wish twitter and facebook weren't blocked here My dad was one of the ones who fell for the 'doesn't work hard enough' bollocks so I take great pleasure in emailing him gifs and clips of HBA doing outrageous things. Got some more ammo for this week anyway

This should be the only way he is used IMO, and not as a replacement for Sissoko unless Sissoko is moving in-field to play alongside Shelvey and Saivet. If he can play on the left and skin the full back to get some crosses in he might work. Not convinced like. Might as well give Thauvin the game time and spend the £12m on a new CB. Or a better winger.

Should see if we can get Elliott to talk him out of it
-
However relieving it is not to see Colback and Anita together in the middle, I couldn't pick Thauvin over Perez, despite Perez's recent drop off in form. Apart from vs a League One team he's shown nothing since he's joined us, whereas Perez has won games on his own on occasion in the PL. Well he needs games and he'll give us some width. Perez isn't a winger and with him on one side and Sissoko on the other we'll naturally play narrower which won't help Mitrovics game. Plus the fact that if we don't give Thauvin games and time then he'll never show anything for us, at least give the guya chance and a decent run in the side.

No fucking way is that gonna be the last post this cunt gets

I think he could come good but he needs time and a run of games. We could line up like this and have some actual natural width which I think would help his game tremendously. Elliott Janmaat Mbemba Colo Mbabu Saivet Shelvey Sissoko Wijnaldum Thauvin Mitrovic Shelvey going box to box. Mbabu and Janmaat overlapping on the attack to give us options both outside and inside the full backs and supplying the crosses for Mitrovic. Similar to Mitrovic I think we could see a player in Thauvin if we set the team up correctly to play somewhat to his strengths and afford him some space and passing options.

Will never be forgiven for what he did to our club. I wish nothing but failure on him.
-
Should have spent a bit on a decent manager.
-
Think we're doing a buy one get one free deal on French attackers this month.
-
Unless McClaren was told it's this kid or nothing.
-
Yeah, he doesn't fit in with the high flying success stories we have running around on the pitch for us these days.
-
Dummett is better as a CB too so we can move him inside or keep him as cover for Colo and Mbemba and play an actual left back.
-
Think we'll find out on Saturday. Hoping to see Saivet and Shelvey starting with Wijnaldum in the no.10 role and Sissoko and Perez / Thauvin either side of him. Horrible feeling we'll see Shelvey start with Colback though.
-
I'm just glad we've moved on from Plan A: sub the left back for no earthly reason, Plan B: throw darts at the teamsheet.

Boys netball players have no place being associated with the number of the magnificent nigerian geordie man mountain.
-
And the assists and intelligent movement. Guess what we're really saying is he can wear a kit and be on a football pitch.
-
Nah, he's best off where he is. He's getting games and learning his trade like he should be at his age. Not to mention this'll be doing his confidence a world of good. If we brought him back he'd be competing with Perez and de Jong for game time. He'd probably be lucky to get on the bench.
