I can see why he'd leave Villa for us. A bigger stage, a world class manager, probably more money and a better chance of getting back into the PL at the first time of asking. It's a long season so he knows he'll get a chance at some point and maybe he thinks he's good enough to prove he's worth a place in the starting XI.

Sky hype. The more you hate your rivals the truer fan you are of your club. Stupid nonsense really. I've got mates who are Sunderland fans, i've lived with mackems in the past and some of my family support them. Yeah, I want us to beat them and do better than them but i'd rather it was both clubs fighting at the top of the table for honours (with us coming out on top of course) rather than the old bald men and a comb thing. Does the North East no good at all having our two biggest clubs being two of the worst in the Premier League.

Jesus and Mohamed together at last. NUFC doing their bit for world peace.
-
Deed according to Caulkin but hopefully not. No point in signing him then.
-
Or possibly he's just a squad player we know we can get cheap due to his release clause.

Good name.

Paul Scholes was probably the best midfielder England has produced for a generation. He was phenomenally good at what he did.
-
Saivet spent a lot of his career playing as a winger iirc so he might have something about him going forward. Don't think we've seen enough of him to judge either way yet.

Not according to Big Sam & Bruce. I don't think that makes the point you think it does.

In the championship probably not. We're going to be the big fish here so it's more likely the onus will be on us to break teams down who are sitting deep. I hope we're also looking to bring in someone with a bit of creativity in the middle. various people keep saying this but no-one really says what they mean or what type of player they are talking about, is a(nother) number 10 you're on about or a different type of CM? Someone with 15-20 for Flair, Vision, Anticipation, Technique and Passing.

Villa 16th Thought Brentford had pots of cash too, would expect them to be challenging for the playoffs at least.

Didn't realise SportsDirect.com were an official supplier to the Eredivisie

Last season Rafa was playing inverted wingers with Townsend on the right and Sissoko on the left, maybe he's going to do that again. I hope not, like. I like a winger to get past his man and stick in a good cross rather than cutting in.

Early days but I don't think so. We've finally got a couple of decent mackem posters imo.

Crazy, should have snapped their hands off /tubes

I got it You are now going straight in at number 2 on my list of N-O anti-Irish posters I named my son Ciaran in recognition of our Scots Irish heritage Fair enough, his passport is Chinese but still.

Is this a declaration of war or something? I couldn't take that quietly. loki, are you awake? I thought you were the god of mischief or some such. Wreak some havoc, man. Don't worry about it, he's Irish. There's more people in the city I live in than his entire country. Pay it no mind.

Aye, was Pardew that tried to turn him into something he's not and ruined his game for a while. He's quite mobile and never stops running although sometimes his positional play isn't the best. He's at his best just moving around the midfield breaking it up and laying it off. Remember that game against Man Utd, that's the role he should be playing for us.

I reckon Obertan's got a better first touch, we should claw in the £30m for Sissoko and unleash feather touch Obertan on the championship. Released, wasn't he? Aye, him and Marveaux were released. Still hasn't got a club as far as I can see

It will be either Canada or China, but China will throw more money at it where as Canada's bid will be with the future of the sport growing in mind and catering to demand I.E. no mega stadiums that will have no purpose after the World Cup. Money will exchange hands and China will build mega stadium that will host crowds of only hundreds after the World Cup. Just catching up, what's this rubbish? My local team plays in a 60,000 seater stadium that's pretty much sold out for every game. Football is incredibly popular over here and the facilities they have already in place are excellent. You don't know what you're talking about (for a change).

Have you seen any evidence of this with your own eyes? I'm not sure what it says but he had Hutton on roast against Villa. I'm sure there's plenty of fb's of that standard in the Champo. Could potentially do very welll based on that little 30 minute cameo. Aye, Floro will do a cracking job in the champo for newco. Hope Rafo can work his mago.

Shelves is better at hold up play anyway.

We have more than enough in midfield to cope with the Championship. The only two I can see leaving in the near future are Sissoko and maybe Tiote. Which will leave us : Colback Anita De Jong Shelvey Aarons Thauvin Ameobi Barlaser Bigirimarna Smith Vukic Ritchie No other championship team can match that, other than Villa. ?Horrendous post! De Jong will be crocked most if not all season. Anita and colback are not up to standard in midfield and most the rest are reserves. Yeah we are short in midfield Its the championship. its extremely foolish naive and frankly disrespectful some of these comments on here about the standard of this league its a difficult league to get out of and should not be under estimated just ask Boro,Bolton,Coventry,Sheff wed, blackburn, all established poem teams in 90s and can't get back well apart from Boro we need creativity and goals from the midfield and we are desperately short on it. Some people on here are in for a shock if they think we are just going to walk this league these teams aren't pub sides they aren't going to roll over and die for us....wake up people That's some bad examples to pick Boro, Bolton and Coventry are all skint (Bolton have debts of £200m) and Blackburn are run by a bunch of mentalist chicken farmers. Sheff Wed are doing alright, like. They're bouncing back after their fall from grace and are under new owners now but the turnover for the whole club is still about half what we just sold one player for.
