It's not so much that, it's more that Colback isn't pushing up to support so Perez has limited options. As a consequence their right flank is pushing further on and Perez is having to play deeper.

We've made a point of playing Colback along with some other knacker all season for the sole purpose of protecting the defence as alone none of them were good enough (until Tiote last 2 games). McClaren may well be planning on playing Saivet long term but it's not a surprise that Colback starts today instead of the new guy. It's s shit, annoying decision, but it's not a long term one yet, imo. Possibly but then again when he signed we kept hearing Colback isn't a replacement for Cabaye, he's a replacement for Gosling.
