The shares aren't publically traded. The trust can't buy anything if the owner doesn't want to sell to them. When Ashley took over the shares were traded on the market and so the price he paid was based on that.

At 20k a month they'll be able to get a 1% share in 5 and a half years assuming whoever owns the club is willing to sell it based on current valuation. That 1%, even if they're allowed to buy it will give them the sum total of fuck all say in anything that happens with the club.
