  1. I can see us getting something here, we'll lose the possession but I think we'll be effective on the counter. Going for 2-2 or 2-1. ASM and Lascelles scoring for us.
  2. You agree with him? Better football under Carver? I can’t remember tbh. I’d say it’s comparable though, but luckily ASM and Almiron have flashes of brilliance. Can't remember lol. Okay then. Oh, I remember us being shite, but I can’t remember what system he had us playing. I’ll go back and watch some of it on YouTube though. No real need to laugh though, it was 5 years ago and I’ve had a child since then We lost 8 in a row. What do you need to remember? You’re extremely results driven aren’t you. I thought the question was about the quality of the football? So we lost 8 in a row and the standard of football was good? 3 wins in 20 games but we played reasonably well? Come on man. I don’t understand why you can’t see beyond the result though. Plenty of teams have played nice football and been relegated (even Norwich play better football than we do). It’s not difficult to grasp the concept that you can play nice football but still lose, but I do accept that you just want us to avoid relegation each season. Probably why you were such a fan of pardew I guess.
  3. Very well put. It will be worth the wait. Probably after the season finishes (2026). fyp
  4. I've not heard nowt, and I can graze my cows on the moor. On a side note I wish they'd get rid of archaic shit like this. Why? It protects Newcastle green lands etc from the scrupulous. Don’t mistake Freeman with Freemasons. Everything we do is charitable and for the good of Newcastle. Hereditary status is an affront. Keep the freemen if you want but award the title to people who actually deserve it, not people who have it because someone else did something. An affront to who? What if there is no one derserving of it? Then no-one gets it. Then who defends the land when everyone dies out? Hold it in trust until there's a worthy recipient of the title. It's not rocket science, there are probably hundreds of people deserving of some honour every year for their work, pick a few and make them freemen. Turn it around, why do you deserve it? Who runs the trust then and agrees it’s function and maintains the charity? My family defended the City walls when it came under attack and the protection of the city was passed down through the family along with the other families who defended the city. Ironically as it stands my family line will end with me unless I have children very late in life and even if I did they may not want to You aren’t forced into it. I nearly didn’t but a combination of wanting to make my late grandad happy and finding out all the good work they do for the city I thought it be good to give something back for the people of Newcastle. There are honorary Freeman for those deserving of the honour as you put it for doing something special for the city. You never answered why you are affronted with what is a charity? Have they done something in their history that has upset you? Right, so you did nothing to deserve it. Not sure how “deserve it” applies to doing some charity work. I don’t see myself as owning anything Nothing against you, like I just take offense at hereditary statuses be they royalty, lords, freemen or binmen. edit: better than rehashing the ethical implications of a Saudi takeover anyway

  9. Long after all this is finished, when Shortstaff is celebrating his 7th PL title and 4th consecutive manager of the year award in the magical green and white stripes of Newcastle Aramco FC, you're still going to be remembered as that plonker who loved Stevie Bacon. NO doesn't forget.
  10. Big one is playing frisbee on the iPad and the little one is getting down to LL Cool J, possibly not the most entertaining game
  11. rather garish Not as bad as the Burberry pitch. Did they bleach half the grass?
  12. Minutes silences are shit without the massive roar after.

  14. Thank fuck for that. I was in some video about acai bowls with Jessica Alba.
  15. Making middle aged geordie blokes delve into twitch is a bit much, like.
  16. Yep. That was really really good. Think everyone should listen to that for some insights into this takeover and previous ones that didn’t quite make. Interesting that BZG pulled out because they felt it was an insult to have to pay a non-refundable deposit to Ashley, along with a number of other insults they felt Ashley dealt them. Also, rumours that the new owners have already bought the freehold for SJP. (Some leaks from the city council) And that PIF/PCP etc had been told around June 1st by the PL that they were going to pass the takeover but on the proviso that they make efforts to sort the piracy. PIF apparently felt that this meant the deal was done. Well worth a listen, whatever you think of Wraith and Mitch. Agree completely I have no problem with the dentist, he openly admits he’s a gobshite and Hastie comes across as very genuine bloke. Found it very interesting that as recent as January they were meeting with midhat, and sheik khaled was at 65% about getting involved in another attempt to buy club. Also if BZG had taken over we would have become the club of Dubai, with even more prominent people involved, I'm assuming they were suggesting the Maktoum’s. However, once they had it confirmed PIF were interested they couldn’t compete. Like LV says well worth a listen if your in to this shit. Fucking hell man...meeting with midhat? That guy was nothing to do with a serious company looking to buy a football club man, stop being so gullible. They probably whatsapped Odin like everyone else.
  17. Agreed, and even if he was paid the most/wanted to be paid the most, who would that have been particularly hard on? Perez, maybe? Dubravka at a push? He was the number nine and fulcrum of the team. This. I would have been quite happy for them to have made him our highest earner and that's coming from someone who was unimpressed at best when signed. He was fantastic for us, a real focal point and leader.
  18. Looking forward to this. 7:30pm kick off on a Saturday night, perfect. My boys are finally getting into football and NUFC but the games they've actually watched with me so far this season have been dire Hopefully a Newcastle win and a few goals to get them hooked and cement their misery for the next 80 years or so. edit: I had a dream that someone was posting updates on here and Shortstaff scored to make it 2-1 so get your money on that.
  19. Don't like the arms, should be striped.
  20. Really? I reckon it's quite a handsome fish. Almost got a feline look about it, 5/7 WB.
  21. That's not unusual tbh. It's also not a sleight on him either, it's just what he does and how he posts. Don't read anything into his silence. Aye, unlike 99% of NO posters (myself included) he only opens his mouth when he's actually got something to say
  22. It also assumes there's only one timeline and no loops. Very linear thinking 2/7.
