It won't matter, them fuckers have the hex over us and nearly always have in the PL era. They must have a good few 90 + winners against us too. Collymore, Fowler, Carvalho, Nunez, that young kid. Probably more too. We used up the next 30 years worth of good fortune back in March, though I must say it was worth it.
-
Actually hate saying this as karma entails it will probably be me or worse Woltemade who it happens too, but I can't help but wish him a serious, season ending injury very soon. This coward will definitely have a groin issue before they come to St James' next season though. I hope to fuck Sky stick it on 17:30 on a Saturday. We will still lose in added time but it will be nice to chuck a pigs head at him or something.

Agree with most - expensive but very necessary. The good thing about this signing is that we can hopefully replicate 22/23, when having Wilson (who was very decent at the time) allowed us to manage Is*k and bed him in relatively slowly. I know there was a period where one was injured and the other wasn't and it flipped. Forget we had Wood then too. Wissa will start against Wolves, probably anyway.
-
Oh aye, I understand it doesn’t work like the good old days, I was just talking in literal terms.
-
We will, but I’d still be dead against it at the prices quoted. Chelsea literally bought two strikers this summer to effectively push Jackson down the pecking order. Why we’d help them shift him at double what they paid is ridiculous. Wissa I do like but he’s also shown himself to be a bit of a prat, who also may have just had his purple patch. To be clear, he’d be my choice if it was only out of these 3, but not for £60m. Strand Larsen I just don’t think is very good. He’s not worth £40m, never mind near £70m.
-
I know I’m a pure broken record but spending £60m + on any of them 3 - JSL, Jackson or Wissa - and we’ve pissed up the Isak profit before it’s even hit our account. Don’t do it NUFC, you’ve fucked up this summer but try not to fuck up one more time.
-
Honestly just stupid on every level if we pay £60m + for Wissa.
-
Embarrassing. Be even worse when we pay north of £60m for Strand Larsen or Wissa. Fingers crossed for a snapped leg, but we all know he will be class and we will have to watch him win everything over the next 5/6 years. Absolutely pathetic to cave in like this. If his book value depreciates every year, then surely we’d have been able to get a similar fee next year and it actually be ‘better’ from a PSR perspective? Fucking embarrassing cunts.
-
True, but we’re the idiots selling him when there’s only one team after him. Next summer would be different, just fucking stupidity. No club aspiring to be considered a big boy will be selling their star player to a domestic team. The only example I can think of is Arsenal & Van Persie, but they were entering their banter years.
-
I think plenty on this forum, including myself, have gave the club the benefit of the doubt as they’ve saved face with some of the activity over the last few weeks, having had an embarrassing summer prior. And it was embarrassing, but having no DOF obviously doesn’t help. For me, the jury is still out on the window tbh. I cannot stress enough - selling him for considerably lower than his value, after he’s been an utter cunt and actually cost us points (which = £££ come May), then they can all get in the fucking sea tbh. Been proper bullied into submission by the big lad in the playground if we do. Pathetic.
-
Really happy with how our window has turned out in the end, but it will leave a massive sour taste if (/when) we cave. They've literally played a blinder - unsettled him, let him kick up a fuss and will end up getting £20-30m knocked off the price to boot. It fucking stinks and we've been utterly bullied into submission. Totally understand Howe and the players want him out - me too - but pride surely comes into it? We've got until the end of June next year to find a buyer to bank it in this years figures, and next year you could have Barca, Bayern & even PSG looking for a forward. Now it's only Liverpool, it makes no sense to me. At best we could have loaned him literally anywhere but there, at worst (best for me, worst for the club) we could have let him sit on his skinny arse as a bit of a punishment. Really gutted if the outcome is him going there, regardless of price tbh.
-
To be fair, we bid £60m for Strand Larsen on the back of a 14 goal season.
-
Aye he’s away now like. I really, really don’t want him to. Couldn’t give a fuck if he never plays for us again. In fact I don’t want him to. But more than anything else, I just don’t want him to get his own way. I’m just shitting it for the fact we might cave at considerably lower than the £150m. It would be the absolute pits and shows that being a cunt allows you to be rewarded.
-
Would have preferred a couple of the fixtures were flipped from a purely selfish perspective for some late sun. But we’ve got a great chance of progressing with that, can’t see what’s wrong with that draw.
-
If he's available for £25-30m, I'd much rather take a chance on him than anything else. A competent striker would get 10 + goals for us. If Wolves signed him for that price and he ends up holding his own in the Premier League, somebody else will pay north of £50m in a year or two. We should be buying them before they cost that, which obviously everyone knows.
-
Just go cheap(er) and address the striker in one of the next 2 windows. Accept & own the fact we've fucked up not yet replacing Wilson with only a few days to go, get a competent DOF & CEO in and say a prayer for the next 4 months.

Leeds United vs. Newcastle United: 30/08/25 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)
Chicken Dancer replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Half 5 kick offs away from home, especially there is a recipe for a cracking atmosphere. Hopefully our players can manage that side of things, as even with the injuries we're a much better side than these. I was there in 2016 which was a Sunday afternoon (I think...) and the 1230 in 22/23 and they don't half make some racket to be fair to them. The acoustics of the ground help for sure. Don't mind Leeds me, which I take is an unpopular opinion. I think the Premier League is better off with them in it. -
I actually fancy us to do most teams at St James if we're on it. Don't even think it's an outrageous thing to say either, when the crowd is up and the players are feeding off it, it must be horrendous as an opposition player.

We will probably end up with the furthest trip just prior to the mackems, it's nailed on.
