Our bezza Colin tweeing about Defoe. As things stand I wouldn't mind him.
-
Would be pissed off if we lost Jose/Barton and didn't replace them but if we get a striker in then I'll be please. Not exciting but stronger than last year.
-
Freddie Shepherd was ahead of his time when he only sanctioned Bowyer's free transfer in the summer of 2003 and blew our forthcoming Champions League campaign out of the water, a decision with such disastrous consequences that we are still suffering from it to this day. "Keeping the powder dry" is the new "winning stuff". In all seriousness, the day when my ambition for NUFC is simply to still exist, I'm packing it in. How f***ing depressing. Honestly I see both points of view and I agree with both, I love nothing more than a big money signing. Really want Charlie back. I don't even know what my point is to be honest. Trying to please everyones take on it I suppose.

I really miss metroland like.

Fucking hell that tickled me .

As much as if I've enjoyed reading this debate, I have, after much thought, came to the conclusion that I couldn't give a flying fuck how much as spent as long as there is steady progress on the pitch. Sell the lot for 100 mil and replace them with a team of Championship rejcts and come 10th for me. We can beat the strategy to death, call for Ashleys/Pardews head but that fact that we're being careful with the clubs finances pleases me. We've tried the other way, it didn't work and we payed the price in relegation. At least we have the security to know our club will be here in 10 years when other clubs probably fear liquidation every day.

Really can't see us getting him which is disapointing considering he apparently wants to come. Pardew quotes in the Ronnie the day suggest two incoming players, presumably a striker and Neil Taylor.
-
"Were all looking forward to getting back to work next Monday. The squad is looking healthy and, hopefully, there are still one or two to come. They wont be in before July 4, but we hope to get one in before the tour of America and there could well be one after the tour." Doesn't fill me with confidence, considering we need at least 3/4 for the first team (argubly) and also squad fillers. Long summer. Suppose you can't complain with our buisness so far like, but would like a right winger/striker as priorities.
-
Has Pardew said we're only going to sign 2 more or something? Be very fucking worrying if that is the case, especially considering one is likely to be Neil Taylor.
-
Just reckon we will now. Clear we're in for a nippy striker, which we need, and having lost out to Gameiro and Erdinc becoming more complicated, I expect us to move for Long.
-
Long is increasingly looking like he'd be a decent signing, even if he was Plan D or E.

It's brilliant business. Wish we'd have the balls to take a gamble on English youth, they'll reap the rewards and make a fortune when the sell him on in a couple of seasons. Aye that's if he does well. There is a good player in there no doubt, but it could all go tits up in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have taken a punt on him, but £13 million is ridiculous. Theres been a million and one decent English young strikers in the Championship, and probably 1 in about 10 become decent. Prime examples are Stead, Nugent, Bothroyd. Then again, he could take to the prem like Carroll did. Big risk though if they have spunked they're budget on him.

Which youngster are you most excited about for the future?

Although I have high hopes for the likes of Tavernier, Ferguson and Kadar, I've voted Vuckic. This isn't coming from someone who's just going off the hype either. I'm going off football manager. Nah, in all seriousness, I've seen Vuckic play what, maybe 15 times now, and everytime he's been class. Thought he was very good at home to Arsenal in the cup even though we got smashed. -
Aye it's not rubbish, just disapointing. Not a patch on Flying High!
-
I was disapointed with it tbh. No interviews or nowt, also naff game footage, especially in the 5-1 game when they drown out the crowd for some reason. Ah well, another £15.99 in Mr Ashleys back pocket.
-
I try to avoid all kind of communication with the club, probably a bad thing but I booked a tour with my Granda last week and all I got for 13 minutes was a recorded message of some man with a fake geordie accent telling me 'It's Arsenal at home first for the Magpies, followed by a trip to Sunderland!' followed by some crap about nufc.co.uk or something. Anyway back to the point, the lad I sit with went to the Box Office about 3 weeks ago to confirm since we can't be sat in L4, could we go to the Strawberry Corner, he then picked where he wanted us to sit and according to the lass there, it was all done and dusted. That was 3 weeks ago. Should I be worried I've not heard anything? A letter, and email, a phonecall, anything. I'm scared.
-
Is he even good enough to warrant the hassle? I mean, he's obviously highly rated down there but surely there is other targets that play there? Not that I'm against it like, but faffing on with him when our attentions could be elsewhere seems foolish...
-
And the £5million could be invested in other areas. Priority areas infact.

Little ungrateful spic. Sell sell sell.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

I signed him back on FM for £22million and got him for £16.5 due to the 25% sell on clause. Would that happen in reality ? -
And so it begins. Again.

I could see that like. Would probably take him back in a year or two tbh, still makes me sick seeing him in their shirt. Hope he fails -
Exactly. I've known a few lads turned down at academy's because they were deemed too small. Woopdy fucking doo man, they had far more ability than anyone else my age but it seems as though all scouts etc are looking for these days is big, built lads.

Spain are miles ahead of us in every single department. I think alot of it has to be blamed on the way in which the English game is structured. Over here, as soon as you get to secondary school at the age of 11, you are thrown onto 11-a side pitches, meaning the players are not developed enough for the large pitch. This means British school kids have a tendancy to just hoof it, whereas the Spanish play on small pitches until they are 16, meaning they get used to pass/move situations. Something that needs looking at as soon as possible really.

I actually thought that was from RTG until I scrolled down. Jesus.
