I don't have any Mackem mates, but a new lad started at Billy Hill (where I work) about 2 months ago and it has just proved to me that the RTG patter exists in real life. A summary of the things he has said in the last 2 months (alot may seem fictional, but I swear to God this is his crack); 1) That Lee Cattermole is superior to Tiote 2) That Sunderland would have won @SJP had Colocini not flattened El Mohamady early on, as 'they arn't a physical team' but like to keep the ball down and away from trouble 3) Seems to think that they are the modern day 1970's Brazil, and that Guardiola takes advice from Steve Bruce on pass and move 4) The 9 signings they have made this summer prove how far they have came since Quinn has took over (I questioned how many of them he thought would get in our current team, and he said all 9) 5) Thinks Gardner will be top scoring English midfielder this season 6) We have signed French crocks, with one or two injuries we would go down 7) Came into work yesterday to take over from me and showed me a betting reciept which read 'The Mags to go down @8/1' and he had put £40 quid on it. What pissed me off about that is that he wrote 'the Mags', fucking idiot. There's a lot more which I can't seem to remember at the minute, but the bloke is an idiot. Can the people who have membership / season tickets not buy more than one ticket? I'm not sure to be honest, but didn't they start these 'friend group things' and that meant you could only buy one ticket as you were part of a 'friend group' anyway? Not sure to be honest, one of the lads I have a season ticket with sorts it. But the other 4 who don't normally just get them on General, if they have had away days took off them off the fucking stone island wannabe crew I wouldn't blame them for being extremely pissed off. Absolute pisstake this. I go to away games in a group of 8-10 lads who never, ever cause bother and have been going for about 10years (ish) since we were about 14. However, only 4 of us have season tickets now as some of the other lads have work/bairn commitments some weekends. Absolute joke to more or less punish innocent people for the mindless acts of some absolute Class A cunts last friday. I personally think we're a striker and a right winger away from a very decent side. More than capable of challenging in the top half and also pushing for Europe. Although it does nark me how the money has 'went into the club' but there's nowt we can do I'm afraid. Pretty confident we'll exceed last seasons finish.

Everyone is esentially a stepping stone, but I think we still have more pulling power than teams in our 'group'. (Everton, Sunderland, Villa, Fulham, Blackburn etc). Ben Arfa an example of this, we had just been promoted but he was obviously sold on the club, hence his determination to come here. Obviously there have been knock backs this summer in the shape of Gameiro and Gervinho, but I'm confident we can keep attracting quality players, it's just keeping them that is the hard thing in today's football sadly.

Really looking forward to this now like! Got the day off so heading down about 2ish I think. Can't wait for Hatem
