I had quite a 'heated debate' with a Mackem mate on Friday night, and he was adamant that Lee Cattermole was a better player than Joey Barton. I begged him for some kind of explanation to this, and he just kept saying 'more to his game'. I hate Lee Cattermole, but I hate Tim Cahill so I can appriciate someone I hate if they are productive. Just what Lee Cattermole brings to a team I do not know. He doesn't set up goals, he doesn't score goals, he can't cross, he can't pass, he can't even tackle without being booked. I just think he's a little thug who got lucky, lucky being he was from Middlesbrough who seem to give every kid in the region a chance.

This. A Mike Ashley signing no doubt. Probably get him. Well I hope so anyway.

He isn't what we need right now at all. Why not? He is an expensive unknown quantity who will probably be a top player in 3/4 years time We need instant impact But wouldn't you rather we got him than someone else? He is going to be a top player, and also being 18 means he would fit in a homegrown quota by the time he's 21, which could prove useful especially if we're too push for Europe in the next 3-5 years. I'd 100 % take a chance, I've heard £15 million being quoted but I definatly think if we offered £8million with maybe a year's loan down there they would take it.

According to today's Chronicle we're apparently back in for Connor Whickham. Would love it if we got him, propper old fashioned with a cracking shot on him (AC anyone). Nowhere near the finished article at 18 but would love it if got him, as long is it was reasonable in terms of price. Would like if we bid for that Chamberlain too, but Man U, Le Arse etc are after him.

Probably. Same with Lovenkrands. Can see both of these scoring on Saturday. Although I've stuck a fiver on Williamson since the Liverpool home game, surely he's got to soon!?

I actually quite like that we've made a bit more use of our change kits in the past two seasons. I know people prefer to always play in Black and White, I do too to a certain extent, but it's good to see that those buying the change strips actually get to see it being worn for once.

I'd like to see Ranger start as it goes. Think both Shola and Lovenkrands are looking a bit leggy lately. And Joey has gone a bit stale on the right, so I would move him inside. Which would mean playing Raylor, but at least his set pieces and crossing are decent. Would like to see ; Krul Simpson Colo Williamson Enrique Raylor Barton Tiote Jonas Nolan Ranger But will see ; Krul Simpson Colo Williamson Enrique Barton Tiote Nolan Jonas Shola Lovenkrands. Probably scrape a 2-1 or something.

Like the yellow one last season. Everyone hated it at first, but it grew on people. Especially me :-D.

Ahh I really like it. Thought the gold badge was going to be on the actual first team strip at first though. Phew.
