It was a great performance and an even better result, but I can't help feeling we played the worst kind of football like . Cabaye, our 'playmaker', attempted just 25 passes, completing 17 of them. Perch then came on for him with 12 minutes and didn't actually attempt a single pass
Hypothetical here...
If it were to go all tits up (calm down Pards) for the rest of the season and if we were ever to get rid of Pardew, I wouldn't mind Brendan Rogers as manager at all. Sure he'd get us playing nice football.
Hatem knows best, I say. We are more than capable of playing a passing game with the core of Colo, Cabaye and Ben Arfa.
I don't see why not, like. Swansea do it, and our players are more talented than theirs, surely?
He shows the on-field intelligence of the kid back at school who doesn't like sport but plays football anyway because he's nothing else to do at lunch break.
He'll never be good enough. It's not a confidence thing, it's an ability thing.
Man City style narrow 4-2-3-1
Krul
Taylor Willo Colo Santon
Cabaye Tioté
Abeid Vuckic Ben Arfa
Ba
edit: That's with our current injuries, of course. Otherwise:
Krul
R.Taylor S.Taylor Colo Santon
Cabaye Tioté Guthrie
HBA Marv
Ba
Cabaye and Guthrie would have to chip in with a fair few goals, like.
Not a position we should prioritise, but we really should stick a little bid in for Momo Diamé. Contract is up at the end of the season and he is a class player. The resale value would be unreal, so it makes no sense not to. Buy now, sell later
Should he? I didn't know that. Good news...
Still need another winger though, as Jonás is looking as though he might be getting to the point where he's past his best
Marveaux's injured though. Won't be back this season.
He's way better than Obertan, at least. Will come up with the occasional assist, as he can actually cross from deep or the byline, whereas Obertan can't do either
