He isn't at all. He is a good centre back, mind.

Sagna, Ivanovic, Richards and Walker are the best in the league and way ahead of anyone else. Other than that it's a very average at best position ability wise and Simpson is no worse than the majority. Ivanovic isn't a good full back. Certainly not at the lever of the other three players you listed. He's mega slow to turn, which is crucial. Alan Hutton is a premier league right back. That says it all about the lack of quality in the position.

I wouldn't say he necessarily wants too much time on the ball, more that his mind is a lot quicker than his body. He is quite lethargic, to put it kindly

Dropping Williamson would be absolutely mental considering he's just won motm and put in a very good display. Any sort of confidence he'd gained from that would be shot and he'd struggle to get it back. We can't play Perch and Colo at the back anyway. There's no height. Williamson won loads of headers vs Liverpool and I'd be far less confident about either Perch or Colo being able to do that.

I know I'm a Guthrie fanboy, but I really think he's important and contributes heavily to our style of play. Sounds mad and overly optimistic, but if he gets injured for a while it could be a blessing in disguise. He's in the team currently, and if that's how his season ends he might decide to stay.
