1 shot all game, off target. I'm sure it's nothing.
-
imo just Villa, they've been below par for the most part. I've seen convincing Spurs (they're always up & down with Ange) , Fulham & Brighton performances multiple times this season.
-
I said earlier, I believe we have the players to compete/push but the performances haven't been unconvincing. I've seen what we look like when it's flowing but that just hasn't been there this season.

An average Tonali game is a good Longstaff game. A great/good Tonali is a level Longstaff can't reach. No slight on Longstaff as he doesn't pick himself but they're not in the same bracket.
-
Losing to a poor West Ham side at home negates that. Top 3 will likely be from City, Arsenal & Liverpool. We're in the mix with the rest (Villa, Spurs, Brighton, Fulham, Man U etc) but have shown nothing (on performances alone) to warrant be bullish about 3rd place.

I still don't and never will understand Longstaff over Tonali. Willock unfortunately hasn't found his peak form post injury, would start Barnes over him. Joe needs to be in midfield, he's the engine of our team, especially if he persists with playing Longstaff. Most worryingly of all though is that the intensity we used to play with has been missing all year long. Possibly a culmination of injuries, fatigue (mental or physical) or something else but the identity of the team of the last two years hasn't been there. I believe the personnel we have as is, even with the deficiency at RW, DM & Botman missing, is good enough to mount a strong challenge for a top 6 spot given the lack of European football. Generally, disappointing start to the season, needs to up the levels in the training ground

Havertz' average as hell, a flop at £70m & £270k p/w. Jackson is a relative bargain at £25m (and the better player of the two).
-
Rice a technically limited DM went for 100m+ Caceido went for 100m+ A known to be garbage Havertz went for 65m+ Anthony 70m+ Hoiberg 70m+ None but one of the aforementioned are strikers. Selling for anything less than 110m (bar being last year of his contract or similar) would be negligence by the club. The striker market is dire, I personally wouldn't respond at anything under 120m

I'm glad he's starting to score some 'easy' goals now. Felt like every other goal of his last season was a goal of the month contender but that was never going to be sustainable. Needs 10+ from near the 6 yard box & pens and is comfortably on his was to doing so.

Some of you guys might be jilted lovers, we went in for a player, he went elsewhere, that should be the end of it. A game by game prognosis is so childish, it's not that serious. He owed us nothing, good luck to him.
-
you can't be serious, he'd be an upgrade to Burn who I like but I'm more concerned with the age profile and lack of pace in that area
-
Makes no difference, the floor of players prices have been raised. If you want quality additions to the squad at sub £30m, which can be done, the scouts have to do their work. If you want an experienced England international, £50m would be the bare minimum
-
I love Schar, been great for us but he's 32. Additionally, the back line has one major flaw which is a lack of pace, needs to be addressed eventually (but not priority concern - RW, DM) Really like Murrillo from Forest as well, either would be great additions
-
Max Kilman went for £40m Archie Gray went for £30m from the Champioonship Laughable to those suggesting his value is anything under £50m
-
We look off, lacking the intensity and sharpness of the last two seasons. Would like our chances otherwise, would happily take a point at this point.
-
Murphy and Longstaff have no business starting outside an injury crisis. Got away with one.
-
Not trying to rag on him, but there were at least 3+ occasions we got in the final third and Longstaff touch killed the move and lost possible. Similarly, the ball dies when it gets to Murphy. Two from Tonali, Willock and Barnes have to come on at HT
-
it's not scapegoating when it's happened 4 times prior in this match alone, not to mention that's his level in general fwiw, I put this 90% on Howe as we have a far superior technician rotting on the bench for some reason '
-
you can't be serious, losing the ball as he did was the catalyst to the goal
-
That's all Longstaff & Howe, Burns would never have been in that position if Longstaff had basic ball retention
-
Longstaff stinks, Tonali on the bench for what? All on Howe.

Most of the posts in this thread are so pathetically spiteful and vindictive. Good luck to him, hope he can get himself on track.
