Well this is odd....close family friend gets tickets mailed to him on a regular basis, on account of his work with Sunderland City Council in his role as a foster carer. By the way - He hasn't fostered any bairns for about 5 years, and living in North Shields ('MAG TERRITRY FTM!!!') every ticket goes straight in the bin. You want them?

It would be funny if it wasnt such a f'kin joke. -
F*cking tramps. We've all arrived at a common consensus that sunderland town centre is an absolute landfill, are they now trying to use the premier league to showcase their trampish ways on a global stage?
-
In that case, I apologise. I really have to stop getting involved in this thread......as far as I can see, it isn't even about sunderland any more.

Nah, Quayside's reinvented itself... ethnically cleansed all the w*nker bars out. Its all micro-brewerys, gastro pubs and craft beers now. Must try it out then! Aye whatever. Get yourself to Brooklyn then. Or Glasgow . Or wherever the f*ck you've deemed acceptable. Or alternatively, the Queen Alex in Shields have stopped hair-spraying all the flat surfaces in the bogs. Much more 'real'.

;D Irony? Nah. Nope. Dead town.

Another day on wearside, another match thread turns into a 'Newcastle isn't all that, sunerlun's just as good marra' denial-festival... 'supping' :D I do wonder though - why don't we mirror their daily 'sunderland is a better night out than Newcastle' threads on here? Hmmm.... http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/mag-on-crystal-palace-forum.890668/page-5

I do agree with most of this... I occasionally work with a SAFC fan, ex-shipyard now training apprentices, in his late 50's so old enough to have seen both the highs and lows of his club and a more fairer-handed bloke you couldn't wish to meet, great sense of self-depreciating humour and always ready to laugh at SAFC's predicament. I also work with an absolute nightmare from houghton, shrill voiced and salad-averse, her every comment about SAFC is preceded by a comment about NUFC. And she has whole-heartedly bought into this classy/unclassy bollocks which is at the crux of the argument. If this whole 'classy' hogwash hadn't surfaced, we could never have taken issue with it. It sticks in people's craw as it is so clearly bullsh*t and easily disproved. I suppose my question is - where and why did it arise?
-
I don't think most Sunderland supporters think we're different from anyone else. I've seen our fans behave amazingly well, and at times absolutely terribly, as I have with fans of every other football club. Regardless of what you think, this 'classy' mantra has spread like a rash amongst your lot online, almost always coupled with an 'unclassy' jibe levelled at us. My post above is calling out the bullsh*t, as I'm sure would happen the other way round if we suddenly declared ourselves the ne plus ultra of the North-East fanbase. Put it this way - one arseh*le took a swing at a horse and one adolescent idiot erroneously wrote 'boycoutt'...and ever since we haven't heard the end of either. Given the behaviour of some of the pond-life in the links provided, I think your lot got off lightly in return.

Legends marra. They deserve a statue......(or at least a burning cross) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1231839/Darren-Bents-mother-racially-abused-Sunderlands-loss-Wigan.html http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/crime/sunderland-monkey-chant-fan-banned-after-racist-gesture-at-west-brom-s-lukaku-1-5921859 http://metro.co.uk/2012/02/27/sunderland-fan-peter-copeland-avoids-jail-for-racist-tweets-about-newcastle-united-striker-demba-ba-333209/ http://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/jan/16/fa-sunderland-pitch-invader-steve-harper-newcastle

Some absolute Olympic-class mack-tracking on the rtg shortbus today: Yew-rup? Isnt worth it Meyler wat a hero c*nt Cups arent important marra Whats the mags doing this weekend anyweeyas? And apropos of nothing.... ;D ;D

Thats how it came across in the Echo article. I've been on the recieving end of the city arseholes too many times to accept their new-found humility, and no amount of 'well done you' will undo that. Thats just me, I'm a belligerent c*nt to all opposing fans, regardless of success or geographical position

You say I've completely missed the point, but your exact quote is this ;- "If we received such a patronising little pat on the head from someone who just gave us a howking in a cup final I'd tell them to go f*ck themselves." I'd never tell anyone to go and f*** themselves, regardless as to whether I thought they were being condescending or not, especially when I'm certain their intentions were good. The atmosphere at the final on Sunday was very friendly, and that article simply underlines that fact. I'm sure Newcastle fans have received praise for their behaviour many times after wins and defeats, and not found it patronising. I'm sure there's hardly any Sunderland fans who expect to be praised for being well behaved, but when the praise does come it should be welcomed and not condemned. Ok, You're still missing the point. Since the final whistle on sunday, when SAFC capitulated in the second half and were roundly hammered, the narrative from your lot has been 'Aye, we were beaten, but by God we're classy....certainly more so than the mags' Then there's been a collective doffing of caps to your betters, a bizarre attitude akin to "thank you sir, beaten by the better side, well done to the victors... but please everyone recognise we havent kicked off...like those dirty horse punchers would" Certainly I'll recognise the following taken to Wembo (who were signally absent in earlier rounds, but lets not get into that). But you aren't special. Countless team's followers have been to the capital and acted like human beings. You don't deserve a medal.
-
It's not about being liked, or disliked. It's about treating fellow fans as you would wish to be treat yourself. There should be more behaviour like this, rather than the hatred that we sometimes see post match. You've completely missed the point. I wasn't talking about the fan's behaviour but about the almost constant drivel (mostly on rtg) about desired (or simply imaginary) bonhomie between disparate sets of fans from around the uk and beyond. The half-half crests, the bullshit links to Bilbao or Feyenoord, the pathetic 'they hate the scum too' links to comments on other message boards. Its completely cringeworthy. I've had great crack with fans around the country and in Europe, and never wrecked the joint or got arrested. We had a fantastic time with the Benfica lads last year but did I expect a letter to the Portuguese press for simply acting like human beings? No of course not. Not tearing the place up isn't unique to Sunderland fans, but expecting some sort of official recognition or long-standing bond afterwards for not doing so seemingly is.
-
What is it with their constant desire to be liked by others? If we received such a patronising little pat on the head from someone who just gave us a howking in a cup final I'd tell them to go f*ck themselves.

Got to agree with this...one half of my family are Celtic daft, had I ever came home in any 'gers merch I genuinely think a priest would've been called.

I believe this is what the kids on the internet call 'an epic fail' (skip to about 45 secs for the comedy - unless you like looking at cowied-up mackems jumping around in their shreddies) http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/what-the-f**k.886610/ Edit - needs to be cut and pasted, mackem potty-mouthed language interrupts the link. But it's worth it

I've drove past the corner house twice today and that isn't there. When was the photo taken?

What a set of gnashers - could make tombstones with those. She could eat an apple through a letterbox with those chompers. 1:25 "have yi started? Ah cannit feel anything!"......That's probably because there's an 8-inch layer of blubber between the needle and the nearest nerve-ending.
-
What a brown-nosing little turd! Althought to be fair, it was probably said to protect his family in the event of a sky-blue fisting, he's aware that if things don't go their way mackems are prone to turning on and abusing the families of the players. Though I assume Mrs Johnson is white so she'll probably be ok.
-
Thats a shame...though perhaps for the best. Cant imagine what a party of Spanish tourists would make of some cowied-up tramp from witherwack waving a can of spesh in their faces. Which would, in 5-years time be remembered as the time they started their affiliation with Catalunia and founded Olympiakos. Or something, marra.

Bye Hatem, nice knowing you. Give pardew a kick up the hoop on your way out. If this is really the finish...what a f*cking criminal waste of talent. EDIT - God damn it, NPW yet again

More to do with the accent as far as I can tell...
