  1. Players get another energy sapping 2 games in unwinnable semi, fans get all giddy with their false-hope injection, SAFC reap the rewards of another half-capacity crowd. Job done. Down by easter.
  2. Having their monthly half-decent 30 min spell.

Life in Sunderla.......hang on? A three-bar gas fire? I'm calling bullshit. EDIT - A quick google shows apparently they did exist. I didnt realise he was posting from 1979.

That thread man, such desperation....the number of them blaming transport links! "Dad what football team do I support?" "Choose Sunderland of course, just like me and your Granda" "Erm....can I check the bus timetable first? And of course, 1992 when football began: Ladies and gentleman, the world contradiction champion 2013.

And not forgetting the various graveyards and necropolis of the region, hence the empty pink seats. RIP FTM marras. Their current predicament reminds me of the dental torture scenes in Marathon Man. Much like the old nazi guy rubs anesthetic into Dustin Hoffmans gums after each long and painful session, the mackems will offer similar false hope in the occasional point or half-decent losing performance, only to fall to bits and remain rock bottom the next week thus elongating the inevitable. Its the long and torturous hope that'll break them. And I'll be the creepy guy in the corner, just watching....
  7. Apart from David Bowie in '87 who, as i pointed out in the mackem thread, appears to have gone there by mistake (watch the first 6 seconds) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILzrb5iU0lc
  8. My understanding (not sure if it's true) is that we can't host the air show because both Newcastle and our coast is too close to the airport and flight paths. Though Sunderland is still close in terms of air space it can be worked around for 48 hours where as having it at say Newcastle or Cullercoats isn't. Oh. In that case I would like to shelve my proposal.

*affects fey Lancashire Accent* "The thing is, I don't know. And nor do they, and that's whats scary...and exciting. Anything can happen with Newcastle, and also nothing - at the same time. Southampton? Well, precisely, who could possibly say? I can't predict what will or won't happen, so I'm sitting on the fence, with a firm 'maybe'. Beat Chelsea? Lose to Swansea? Beat Man U? I'm stumped Gary....Pfffffff. I'm so shit at this, Why can't I admit what a clueless charlatan I am? Erm, whatever, 2-1. What did Rizzle Kickz predict?"

Its the classic Kubler-Ross model of grievance... Anger... Fear.... Denial... Bullshit... Acceptance... Oh. Scratch that last one. Forgot who we were dealing with.

They are most definitely not taking the announcement of gigs at SJP well.... http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/kings-of-leon.847224/ By page 4 they're already fighting, accusing each other of being 'mags' and questioning each other's sexuality! Such a backwards place, seriously.
  13. Barca were so cool with the refusal of sponsors for decades, then became even cooler with their unicef endorsement. Now look at them. Whores like the rest of us.....
  14. If this is a success this could spell the end for concerts at the Estadio de Lose. Poor buggers, they don't have much bless 'em. We'll be nicking their air show next.
  15. Massive chunk of my family, and in laws, have 'united' as their second (or in some cases first) team. They're not enjoying things right now. Suck it. Suck it hard.

The RTG gibbons have been furiously daisy-chaining each other over some godawful reality docushite about last seasons 'horse punching' derby on Sky One tonight. But as always, they get all confused.... Why the f*ck would he post all that? No 'remove' function on the shortbus? http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/sky-1-now.846556/page-3
  17. Shola wouldve ran into, elbowed and fouled a CB. Obertan wouldve gotten all confused and fell over. Cisse wouldve rendered the entire move offside. Lets just accept Remy's move for what it was....goalworthy!

14 games. With only 14 games to go (8 at home and 9 away) minus the parachute payment co-efficient (2.6 games in lieu) and bearing in mind they've already played 17 games which deducted from 38 makes 24....that makes an average of 5.434343 recurring points per game required. I think West Ham managed it in 1998 marra.
  19. I imagine that was him taking a while to get used to the pace etc of the english game....when its all said and done, for the sake of a dozen shaky games, we now have Mathieu F*cking Debuchy in our first eleven. For that we should be grateful! MOTM today for me, class player.
  20. Christ, the Estadio de Lose isnt half emptying quickly.....must really fill their players with hope.

Yes, I remember their delightful ditty 2 years ago about how they would rather be of South Asian origin (specifically Pakistan if i recall correctly) than to be a supporter of NUFC. Wonderful wit, incisive and original. And not at all blatantly racist.
