If that’s the reason the Premier League has rejected it (or can’t accept it) then say so and we can all move on from this limbo stage. I’m desperate for this takeover but if there’s concerns about who’s making decision when they’ve got an 80% stake in the club then it’s a valid one. Someone needs to be accountable. If they got bored of the club and didn’t invest who as a fan base do we look to? Make a decision on it and let us know. If there’s a work around trying to be done let us know. Stavely has asked for the support/pressure the fan base and NUST has delivered. We’re now approaching the stage where every party has disregarded the fan base.

I know you're wrong. Because someone told Caulkin, who told someone your missus works with, who told you? Hearing things first hand from No Red Flags George has proved to be absolutely worthless, so not sure 3rd/4th/5th-hand info is grounds to be confident. I'm that confident that it'll go through, I'll bet your account on it. Honestly don't think this sort of thing helps anyone whether you're for or against the deal. If there's a reliable source name it. If not say nothing as it effectively plays on peoples hopes at a time when absolutely no fan that's been invested of this deserves to be messed around.

Feel like Southampton are getting the better deal out of that.

Twitter is a massive cringe-fest with this Boris stuff. For a start he’s totally straight batted the response to the takeover, stayed well away from entering into the debate about it and said he supports the decision of the ombudsman. That’s it. Yet Twitter is full of Boris is black and white stripes etc. “Boris with the back post header” ?

In our current position I don’t think Hendrick would be a terrible signing. We’ll be short of centre midfielders. I vaguely remember he had a really good game v us up here under Rafa.

Fundamentally disagree. Reminds me of Labour and Starmer calmly playing by the rules while the Tories p*ss all over every established convention there is. The PL won't respond to politeness or anything of the kind, they'll respond to something that's going to hurt their bottom line and nothing else. Bit like Mike in that regard actually. If you think otherwise I'm sorry but you're f***ing deluded. And how would you so that with abuse and spam? It’s not about being polite - it’s about undertaking coordinated targeted and meaningful action rather than spamming twitter and doing nothing but making noise in your own bubble. I'm not suggesting I have the answers tbh, I'm saying I disagree with the idea that playing by the rules with people like Ashley and the PL won't work. That's all. Ashley gave a s*** (to an extent) when people started jacking their tickets in. The PL need targeting accordingly somehow, something that hurts them. Writing letters won't do a f***ing thing, sorry like but it won't. Sort of agree and disagree with both here. The NUST can’t be seen to be condoning that sort of thing but the spam and attacks on everything the Premier League post isn’t going to make it easy for them to sweep things under the carpet. It’s going to take a lot of effort from all sorts of angles, professional and otherwise, for us to get answers.

Board meeting tomorrow - we've got in touch with the FSA (as our umbrella body) to ask that they facilitate a meeting with the Premier League but aren't holding our breath on that one. Thanks for the response mate. Appreciate the work you guys are putting in. I’m joining up next week as I really don’t see a way forward for our club in the future if we don’t have a united fan base with a voice that could eventually be heard. Hoping others do the same.

Greg[/member] Has there been much discussion within the NUST about what the next steps are after the fallout from last week? Is there any action being taken or is there any plans to try and contact Masters again?

Given our transfer budget will be almost zero and we’re unlikely to sign Bentaleb. Surely it would make sense for his career to sign a deal here as he’s almost guaranteed Premier League games given our squad. It would have been worse for him if the takeover happened.

I blatantly spoiled our wedding anniversary the other day by being quiet all night and passed it off as being tired when in reality I was going over every report I’d read in my head looking to assign blame while drastically clinging to some sort of hope it’ll be resurrected. I’m 33 ffs and sat in a mood while out for a meal.

Anyone trying to make a difference deserves respect in my opinion. If this process has taught me anything is that our opinion and lives count for zero. We need a more united fan base with more influence.
