This. Sean has always had his best displays for us when he has been given the no 10 role I disagree here. I think Sean is perfect for the holding type role picking passes like where he excelled under Rafa. Bruce pushed him further forward and he didn’t look like he had the attributes for it to me, he looked awkward. I know he got a couple of goals in the cup and played well there away to Bournemouth but it’s the Carrick comparisons that got people excited for his future. Don't really agree with that. He played his best football under Rafa alongside Ki, and it was Ki who sat the deeper of the two. The best part of Longstaff's game is when he gets into the final third and think he could be so much more for us pushed further up. It was those timed driving runs from deep though that he couldn’t recreate in the 10 position Bruce was playing him in.

That’s where I’m at as well Yorkie. I feel like I need some sort of closure to a certain extent from the major parties involved. The fans have done themselves proud and tried to participate in whatever the fallout was by applying pressure as requested. If there’s no where to go now it’s time to say so from the consortium.

I think he’d improve us massively as well.

Sadly I’m actually a bit surprised at that. I thought trusts from other fan bases, especially outside of the top couple of clubs, would have viewed this as a potential long term issue that could also effect them. What’s your feelings Greg[/member] from the meeting with the PL and what’s the overall feeling of the trust coming out of it? Assuming you can pass that info on.

Wonder if he’s Zaha’s replacement?

I’ve read most of what’s been released and it looks to be like the consortium have given them the opportunity to play it like this by pulling out. They mentioned again offering arbitration on that singular issue and reading between the lines that says to me it would have been rejected on that basis unless they could offer a different solution. I can’t understand why the consortium didn’t stay and force them to make a decision. Hopefully we hear from them on the back of this. I’m not getting the impression any side of it is that interested in re-entering and finding a common ground though.

Hope the NUST can get some sort of meeting with the consortium and even the club so we can get an overall view of what they think. As stands it’s still nobodies fault the deal didn’t go through apparently and that’s obviously not the case.

Merino in the Spanish squad.

Absolutely the wrong topic for this but a lot of people stopped going to force Mike to sell as he clearly wasn’t interested and was only trying to keep up above water. Now he’s very clearly desperate to sell, seeming as much as we are happy for him to leave. Does that change peoples stance on going to games? Or is the club just abandoned until it’s sold? I’ve stayed away since Rafa walked for those reasons. Despite everything feeling terrible does that perspective change for some people? I can't speak for others but I'll still not attend any games until he's gone. Granted, that's easy for me to say from the other end of the country where I pay hundreds for the privilege of attending one or two home games and closer away games a year. Think I saw someone in another thread mention the possibility of fans reasoning as you've said; 'well he clearly wants to sell now so he will when he can. lets go support the team in the meantime'. I don't want to be a part of anything that might warm him to keeping the club in the slightest. Keep the pressure on. Yea, I think I’m the same. Although I don’t know whether that’s because I’m sick of it or to make albeit small stand against Mike though. @9Shearergol[/member] To support an average team that probably needs the backing? Like I said before if staying away earlier was to force Mike to sell, now he’s trying to does that change anything?

You can almost sense the life draining out of Lyon every minute now.

Lyon looking great so far

I vaguely remember him being a goal threat at Derby and looking at his record I guess I was wrong. I still think it’s a solid signing given out situation and squad depth but I don’t see him ousting either Shelvey or Hayden.

The meeting is tomorrow, isn't it? I’m likely wrong but I thought I read Tuesday. Edit* Yea, it’s Wednesday.

Good luck to the NUST getting any info out of Masters today. Hopefully we’ll get some answers rather than him just straight batting questions.
