Off topic but IF this takeover goes ahead I’d love to have a team based around possession football. It feels like years since we’ve had a team that can put together any decent passing moves.

Is Guendouzi a good player or not? I’ve seen him linked with a whole host of clubs after another fallout at Arsenal. I can’t say I’ve paid really close attention to him but I also don’t think he’s ever done much to really attract the attention. What’s people’s thoughts on him?

In an odd way I’d sort of forgotten how bad we were until the Villa game yesterday. I think with the lockdown break, the takeover saga and Sheffield being really toothless has given me some respite from it. We were dead on our feet shortly before we scored, especially in midfield. I get the subs got us the goal but it also completely took any control of the game we had away. There didn’t seem to be any tactics or structure to it and watching a poor looking Villa side having the time and space to put balls into the box was just painful man. I think it’s going to be really hard to stick with this if the takeover fails.

He did revert to type last night unfortunately. I don’t think his hold-up play was very good either, he barely won a header or threaten to challenge for it. He’s got something though, it peeks through every now and again. I think it’s probably beyond doubt that he wasn’t worth £40m but if you can forget the price tag and consider his age there could* still be a player there.

I’m really ready for this this takeover to be approved so we’ve got a realistic shot of getting rid of this type of football. Another point closer to confirming safety I guess.
