We signed Isak out of nowhere a few days after failing to get this nonce off Watford last time, so whatever

Every time I check back on this thread, I'm genuinely impressed by its ability to discover entirely new depths of dysfunction. It's almost an art form at this point. Keep it up please

Aye, total weirdo, the signs have been there https://www.balls.ie/football/banned-damien-duff-found-bizarre-dalymount-viewpoint-630671

Think he has lost his head with the way the season has been going (Shels have been a shadow of last season so far) and made a bit of a rash decision, he's been banging on about the lack of motivation and dedication from his own players and the professionalism in the league in general for last few weeks, I imagine he has probably said a few things in private that he couldn't undo and forced his own hand a bit. It's silly with Europe coming up because a good run in Europe will be worth way more than the best they can expect in the league and they have a brilliant draw on the face of it, not sure where he goes now but doubt he will stay in Ireland with the way he's set this up, reckon he's got a bit of nous as manager but seems like a very abrasive character.

Elanga is fine, there's not too many unknowns so it's a bit boring in face of it but think he's a round peg for a round hole and will improve us significantly
-
Similar has been said about a few signings since Howe came in, I am fairly sure Elanga could be dynamite for us as he would compliment what we have and his attributes align with our style, but it's all conjecture at this stage
-
I like Elanga, he has everything we need, he'd seem far more exciting to a lot of fans if he had been tearing it up in the Dutch league or similar

It reminds me of a magic eye drawing, stare at it long enough and it starts to look good

Wish we'd just get the DCL deal done already, bored of moaning about the prospect of signing him and would like to move on to moaning about his actual performances (or lack thereof)
-
It was horrific to watch but it's just one match, sometimes you get bummed sometimes you bum someone else, that's football

Went to the toilet and it's all gone dreadful

Agree on this, it shouldn't have a bearing on the decision but it was a very poor decision to come charging out in that situation. Anyway, at least he saved the penalty and we won 5-0.
-
I was 50/50 on it, can see why it was given but it was a ridiculous VAR review and there wasn't really enough there to overrule the ref, but also did not feel like the worst decision we have ever been on wrong end of, it's not an exact science and things can be ambiguous I guess?

Highlights of the day have been the three poos and one bath so far, gone for the first beer now, wife and kids going to arrive home just before kick off which is going to force me into exile in the bedroom probably

C - not sure how a team consisting entirely of Nick Popes would do though. Bit of a recency bias to overcome but he's still a bit better than a D surely?
-
Small D for Matty T. Difference between him and Wilson is that I could easily see Targett turning out another 3-4 seasons for some lower table PL team, Wilson I can barely see turning out another 3-4 games. Also Wilson has declined a lot more from a higher starting point whereas Targett has more gone from being quite good to bang average.

There will be no Carabao Cup, I'll tell the children
-
A lot of recency bias and hard to know just how finished he is but does feel like there's not much left in the tank now, E+

Didn't think it should be a red, but can absolutely understand why it was a red and there's absolutely zero chance of it getting overturned and you're mad if you think otherwise. It is what it is.

Was probably close to a B for a while but still a solid C for time being
-
B for Botman, could eventually end up being a C or an A depending on injuries and luck etc
