  1. Thought it was an okay performance, we aren't at our best but we're cobbling it together. We absorbed everything they had and caught them at the back with their absurdly aggressive setup, few occasions where they had to take yellow cards to break up counters too. Didn't feel particularly comfortable but hopefully we can build on this now.

    Marc Guehi

Having to work off a lot of incomplete information and speculation but it does all feel a bit weird, I rate Guehi and he'd definitely improve us overnight but it feels extremely obvious and hard to see where the value proposition is/was. Given we are supposedly targeting players who come available at the right price point, it's hard to reconcile that with the apparent exclusive prioritisation of one player for the last few weeks. I don't think we're particularly screwed barring another injury crisis and I think we can overachieve with less games and lower expectations but the transfer strategy is very confusing to me.
  3. Barely played for Galway United first team but has looked to have quality when he has featured, skillful dribbler and can beat a man, still looks quite lightweight. Been a bit of talk about him going to a club in England once he turned 18 for a while.

    "Dubbed the next Phillip Billing"
  5. Shocking result, up there with worst result for a LoI team in Europe and it's a competitive field. Shelbourne are ahead against St Josephs now at least.
  6. Legend in my eyes, may not be the best or the most accomplished player to ever play for us but he always gave it everything and been responsible for a few magic moments. Feel a bit like there's too much emphasis on footballers being perfectly rounded these days which diminishes the charm of appreciating players who aren't flawless.
  7. Would be great to have him link up with Tonali anyway
  8. Glad I didn't switch it off now, loving this
  9. It's all so pointless though isn't it, we needed to sell him due to our circumstances nd we got a decent fee all considered, whatever happens after that is irrelevant really, not like we are banned from ever signing another RW
  10. More high praise from Benfica fans when he signed for Forest here https://www.forestforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/odysseas-vlachodimos-and-pliers.51506/post-3877827
  11. Can't wait to get my teeth stuck in to complaining about how shit this guy is tbh
  12. Forest fans hate him, Benfica fans seem to have also hated him, promising
  13. Imagine what we could have got if we hadn't been frantically scrambling round at the last minute in a totally unplanned manner
  14. Whatever it is it is, sometimes you've got to take a punch to land a punch. Been said before but the proliferation of chat about things like asset management, revenue streams, amortisation, player ceilings etc etc is dull as shit though especially when nobody can really know whats going on beyond a vaguely educated guess.
  15. Seems like a great price but fact that Brighton are the club paying it makes me feel a bit less confident about the value
  16. Could always be worse, least you're not getting pounded by Andre the Giant
  17. Of all the options that have been suggested this feels like the best and most achievable one, would like to see Anderson get another season here but can't have it all in a PSR world
  18. Be very sad to see him go but it is what it is, same as we need to sign players whose stock is on the rise, we also need to sell players of any real value before their stock regresses, in an ideal world we could hold onto him until he retires
  19. Not sure how we could've known about the Tonali situation without some extremely invasive data gathering, Milan on the other hand quite likely knew about it and chose to cash in, all hypotheticals anyway
  20. Mad how we are still seemingly keen to do business with Milan tbh
  21. Are Valencia aware that Minteh is a ballon d'or winner in waiting? Would they give us Mamar and 20 million maybe?

Nice to have something uncontentious after the Calvert-Lewin thread anyway

Martin Dillon and Gordon Thomas book worth a read on this topic. Maxwell clearly had some sort of relationship with Mossad and based on some of the historical Mossad operations (that are in the public domain) it isn't totally ridiculous to suggest the possibility imo. Obviously these type of viewpoints all get jumbled together and tarred with the crackpot conspiracy brush and Lawro hardly the best advocate for anything.
