Mind, Sunday in town could be interesting with the mackems travelling back into Central station from London over the course of the day. Northumbria Plod must be getting a bit of overtime.

You've got to go to Newcastle to get the train to Wembley, Sunderland's a massive club.
  3. I think it's fine, if it's released in long sleeves then I'll be treating myself.
  4. Yeah, lad at work was the same. Just seen that it's on both BBC and ITV so at least that means it should get a decent audience. It's coverage on terrestrial TV is the one thing which is keeping the competition semi relevant.
  5. Don't think I'll lose too much sleep if Palace won it, but their "Ultras" can collectively stick that fucking drum up their arse. Know it's been mentioned umpteen times, but it's just sad to see the FA Cup being kicked to the back of the cupboard. Suppose at least it's not competing with premier league football today so that's at least something, but bet there are football fans who don't even realise that it's today.

Ten days ago, a load of them on RTG wanted Hilary Briss sacked. Life comes at you fast.

The difference in size between the W and the E . It's like when you're writing on a post-it note and you suddenly realise that you're going to run out of space.
  8. Not sure whether they claimed it as their own, but they held the title for a number of years. Eventually they handed the honour back to the local authority, so the 1988 FA Cup is actually held by a council.
  9. Absolutely - it serves zero purpose other than to refer to a past which has long since been expunged. Guessing that the handful of fans who tried to carry on following them post move sharp got sick and moved on to the phoenix club, so the dons reference is crass and pointless. Apart from the rebirth of Wimbledon FC, The only good thing to come from the whole debacle is that it'll never happen again.
  10. As a town, I don't have any issue with Milton Keynes - I've stayed there several times and it's quirky and inoffensive. As for the football club though, it can get fucked. Given the audacity of what happened, I'm amazed that it still carries the Dons name in its title, what with the pre-move stuff being wiped from history.

"Villa haven't been in long, or the Mags" I the last 32 years, we've only been missing from the PL for two seasons.
  12. Selling a football shirt that will be old stock in a few weeks time for more than the original ticket price is some going mind. No doubt that it will sell though.

Yeah, it's all very OTT to the point where I can't help but think that he's taking the piss, but I'm finding it kind of admirable in an odd sort of way.

    Returning from Marrakesh
  15. Yeah, sure that'll be fine. Just avoid street parking and I'm sure your car will be OK. I'm going on a supporters coach tomorrow which I haven't done in years. My brother in law, who is half my age, has informed me that "it's a good laugh". Let's see 😄
  16. Sorry this post isn't really much help, but I'd use proper organised football parking if possible. Street parking in Brum on a match day is supposed to be a bit of roulette, with cars having parts stripped from them being a big problem right now. Not sure if it's such a big problem round Villa Park, but it's recently been a massive problem around St Andrews. The one time I took my car to Villa Park I was immediately hassled by kids to mind it for cash. Can't remember if I paid or not but car was fine when I returned.

Fucking hell!! Reading that, I'm wondering whether anybody has replied to say something along the lines of "that's a bit much", but then it shows that 24 of them appear to think that it's clever or funny. Thicker than a castle wall.

Think it'll be Lee Johnson who was probably their manager at the time.

Pull slider to 3:23:00, that's just before his call. I know, had it on in the background this morning and I was proper buckled when he just blurted it out

BBC Radio Newcastle 3 hours 23 minutes in, NUFC fan gets through to competition this morning to win tickets for mackems v Millwall. Not sure what's funnier - his answer, or the fact that his call meant that they ran out of time so couldn't give the tickets away in the end.
