I mean i see some logic it is a stroke of luck for us but do you extend it to players who were injured can't now play? What about if a player wasn't in form but now is do you tell them not to score?

Sad how weird it is to see a manager and club behave so graciously considering they're probably well within their rights to be miffed he hasn't stayed longer. It will pay dividends later mind as will make other players want to join knowing they will be treated reasonably. I do totally understand their fans being frustrated at losing players and seemingly not fighting it too hard, and equally understand clubs wanting to keep players often, but think it will probably be long term sensible for them.

I dunno heard a lot of hype about balogun so will probably sink never to be seen again

Guardiola right now

The timing stinks looks like a call for clubs to come in for him but if you look at what he said it was not that bad really at all. Very likely terribly advised. Partially it's one of these infantilising things where in normal adult world it would be a quick apology for something fairly minor gets blown out of proportion because it may insult a load of fans who really should know better than to care

On loan fine but no obligation to buy, not worth it

I mean anyone celebrating before pen is to paper is mad in transfer dealings. This seems likely but not done deal. Hope it happens but hope club are actively pursuing alternatives as well right up until the contract is signed. This is normal transfer window stuff and gets blown up by media who are of course briefed by agents every inch of the way so as to maximize the drama. Do not presume anything has happened before it has happened.

leaked legal documents (so not 100% credible i guess just on word that legit) say he admitted the woman told him to stop multiple times. Grim stuff.

Disgraceful how Afcon is treated, imagine if a club in some way prevented a player playing in euros or world cup.
-
Ings would be perfectly fine signing to help while wilson injured

Love a player complaining over something absolutely stonewall. Idiotic

Southgate called him a defensive animal. What we need
-
He knows howe, he worked with Jones in England set up our makes decent sense for him

I mean knowing how all our backroom people are still being hired it probably is howe doing it himself isn't it with Mandy giving go ahead
-
As i understand it we are paying his release clause so maybe not needing too much negotiation there, could be us asking any chance they could knock £5m off which will probably be laughed at

Mike Ashley themed army?

Everyones very concerned about player welfare considering the tight schedule and covid everywhere right up until we get a bit of fortune. I think this could have been handled better, the new wave combined with the very compressed fixture list was always going to cause this. When there were calls for the league to be suspended maybe should have been heeded and maybe 2 full rounds of fixtures postponed, that way fair on everyone and would have kept covid numbers down.
-
Well yes which is rather what i was trying to argue, we need to get players to suit what we need not just the big name ones agents are flogging around via media
-
You're not wrong it isnt a great comparison, but I do genuinely think more fondly of hayden, when he leaves should be with head held high. Shelvey it's maybe more frustration that there clearly is a player there, just not able to sustain it and then many acts of stupidity on pitch too.
-
Oh of course I would lol I just mean general transfer strategy, we dont really have luxury of being choose, I just don't want to come out of january ahving spent 100m on 1 star who then flops. We will be paying over the odds cos it's january and everyone knws we have money and are desperate. It's so easy to buy a load of people on reputation etc and it be awful think QPR when they briefly were spending and Fulham more recently.
-
Shelvey is playing well right now, but so often he tails off quite quickly and I would rather have 10 men on the pitch than have him.
-
Pogba, Sancho (tho he will come good) Angel Di Maria, Sanchez, Lukaku (albeit still think he was doing fine), Martial etc
-
It wasn't just you and no yours was far from worst but I think he's earned respect for doing well by the club. I do rate him higher than Shelvey, Shelvely certainly can play better but mostly hasn't and has very often contributed absolutely nothing. Until slump more recently hayden could be relied upon to put in the hard yard.

I just worry we'll end up like Man United splashing loads of money on players out of reputation and then realizing they're shit.
