I think we ought to keep the back 5 as is but bring in competition for Yedlin, offload Clark and Mbemba and get in a new backup CB tbh.

Matt Ritchie (now Technical Director at Bournemouth)

yeah, also we've pushed a bit higher up the pitch of late, maybe not for all Arsenal match but think him and Perez have really benefited from that bit more support in forward areas and having less distance to run to get ball into dangerous areas -

Think his lack of pace means that decent premier league full backs don't really struggle to defend against him when he's going wide. He's had more success coming inside as ever but he has been shunted around positions a bit, Rafa seemed to try him in no 10 role briefly. Coming inside was more difficult too when we were playing that 4-4-2 that wasn't really a success. -
Definite must buys: Good striker Kennedy, or replacement for kenedy If Rafa doesn't think Murphy is up to the task, competition for Ritchie Competition for Yedlin (maybe someone who can do CB as well as backup) Good ideas New No 10 / competition for Perez Backup for Shelvey (could be same as above) Backup CB since Mbemba isn't doing anything and Clark I'm not sure good enough at this level.

It's going to go wrong at some point

Lets take bets on which league they'll be in or if they'll even exist in by page 1000 of this thread?

Yep i suspect Burnley will lose their charm soon enough and will just be another peak pulis stoke.

Dyche definitely deserves the manager of the year like, and agree pep has a major advantage with all the money thrown at him but he's still improved them to looking like a classic team. Having said that his champions league failure does knock him down in contention a bit, winning league is kinda a minimum.

Just saw an arsenal fan tv where their fan describes atletico madrid as having "the defensive nous of a newcastle" Never thought I'd see the day that was uttered in a positive manner

Imagine if after all this Shelvey goes to Russia after all and then gets sent off in first match

It'll soon be the new hazing for new recruits, they walk into the club, Lascelles pounces, gives them a good haymaker and bang 10x the player previously
-
I think Arsenal started well and were all over him, Elneny was really pushing up on him as soon as he got the ball and he gave the ball away because of it. Then he got away from them after they scored and started to influence things again. No idea why Arsenal couldn't keep that press up for even one half of football.

Man U are absolute steaming garbage like. Embarassing

Does that basically mean most likely our survival will be confirmed next weekend then when city win?
-
Honestly rename the city after him
-
Is there a good gif of him putting his glasses away at the end of a winning match yet? Needed.

It's a properly coached team, yedlin started a bit off but generally everyone works together contributes. Beautiful to watch. Compared to years of random assortments of players some giving a shit others just in it for themselves.

Magnificent, legs for days

I'd put his improvement down over us being a bit more pushed up in last 3 games giving him support, so he's not on his own getting pushed off the ball as much. However the confidence he's got from that has clearly helped him now when we are playing more on the counter too. Decisive today. Excellent goal, excellent assist.

Take a fucking bow you magnificent bastards

"Just waiting for the glasses to go in the pocket" should be new name of forum
-
He's managing to get some great balls forward to be fair. yep seems to have escaped Elneny's pressure a bit

Perez is on it today
