What's the pin for this? I will enter i always quickly forget about fpl tbh though Ignore me in

I think being in a premier League scouting department must be funny at times. I read they man u are super proud of their database with thousands of players, yeah but you don't fucking use it do you? Have hundreds of apparently obscure players and they sign their managers old players for bonkers money instead. I assume it is similar elsewhere, teams and teams of dedicated scouts chasing round talented youngsters in leagues around the world and then totally ignored for some expensive overhyped guy who plays in the same league

To be realistic speaking of trouble with ffp will mean sales, but starting next season i expect us to start some reasonable sales too bring in better. With market as it is miggy, willock even murphy could raise reasonable amounts. Equally if we don't make champions League (and I am on the doubt we will side) we will still have hopefully made steps up in commercial income from other avenues.

Boggles my mind how we got Bruno that cheap... The caicedo fee stinks of trying to one up opposition clubs with a fee. Just scout better. Brighton will bring in another lad they signed for £2m a year ago without anyone noticing.

We should have some pull with champions league, I think some on here forget that. Spurs probably have more wages and the whole 'london effect'. I'm relaxed sure there are others. In many ways spurs being linked with a centre back is a warning sign...

I mean we benefit from it lol but the fit and proper ownership test is a joke. What isn't talked about anywhere near enough is it's failings further down the pyramid where dodgy owners running clubs into the ground is depressingly common

Levy being an absolute cunt to deal with does mean he gets the most out of sales like that has to be said, it makes sense. I can't help but wonder though if their underwhelming business signing players is because Levy has pissed off so many club chairman they struggle to buy players. Brighton have the opposite approach, not that they don't squeeze value (see Caicedo) but they are generally happy to sell if the right amount comes and proffessional for other clubs to deal with. They get the rewards because young players see them as a really attractive proposition, clear pathway to first team, excellent coaching, and when they want to make a big money move the club will help them along. The Brighton model only works as long as the production line is in line with the sales. I do think they'll have a poor season or two, and equally clubs may realize that players are part of a sophisticated system and maybe they won't look so good playing for someone else. There is no reason Brighton if they keep their quality can't win a cup, even if they are never going to have the finances to compete for the very top.

I get staying and i get going, not knowing which way to go smells more of brother wanting a slice of that signing on fee and bugging him into it
-
the worst part of it is though him shelling out bonuses for the 5th place finish will have been the sole motivator for only signing vernon anita the season after.

I think Longstaff can, and maybe Miley but that would be too soon.
-
I dunno think he got a bad rap for being a bit of an all rounder but master of none. He was just never a particularly intimidating midfielder for a club supposedly meant to be challenging for titles, but as a squad member is fine. No need for him here mind, with Longstaff Willock and Miley potentially in 2nd choice midfield we're fine.

That has been the case for about a year now. Kenwright has been stringing along supporters with promise that the financial situation will be fixed when these mystery new investors come in and they never do. If they exist the suspicion is they are waiting to see how fucked the club are by the FFP rule breach investigation. Keep in mind if they can't raise the capital to complete the stadium they will be financially liable for restoring it back to being a dock (which will paradoxically cost way more than just finishing the damn thing at this point, but could theoretically be hard to avoid if say they get relegated.

I can respect him wanting to stay loyal to 'his club'. I don't think staying is unreasonable.

sssssh nobody's supposed to know

If Man U hadn't spunked all their money on a crocked kid they may have been able to force it through now. It wouldn't shock me if they still gave it a go, but i just think Levy wants him abroad if he is to be sold. I wonder if he knew Kane was minded to stay and then accepted the bid just to prove to the owner that he was willing to sell. Wouldn't shock me at all.
-
But Liverpool have a ceiling don't you know, poor impoverished Liverpool could never compete with the likes of us
-
I'm guessing levy won't even countenance selling to a direct rival for top 4 which is fair enough albeit one he's gone I'm not sure they will threaten. If they spend money wisely they can adapt, but this is spurs so they will spunk it badly
-
Are Brighton breaking their model a bit signing someone nurtured elsewhere without the profit margin available? I would be a bit surprised with him getting time last season and mahrez gone so they are down a wide man
-
I am full of contradictions. I hate the modern spaceship bland stadiums (not that i've been to many in reality lol) but also think madder the shit the funner. Spurs chickened out of their cheese tasting tunnel or whatever it is. Mad silly shit gives character, copy paste could be anywhere architecture and chain stuff is the enemy. I want silly design and I want silly gimmicks.
-
Thought that was Jacob Ramsey for a second and thought why the fuck are they selling him lol
-
I can see a brutal logic to it, sign another keeper of high quality who expects to start and let the best keeper win, the other will be pissed and you can try and sell him a year later, it just feels a bit of a recipe for dressing room unrest. May prove me wrong, or maybe he won't be that good but will hit Ramsdale's confidence significantly and it will be a lot of wasted wages.

For the record, i do get all the arguments to move it, i understand it...but it's not fucking newcastle without the stadium at the top of the hill... Would the council not move all teh roads around completely for us, seriously, just knock through anything, redesign the whole infrastructure of the city just to have the new stadium there, teh best placed stadium in the fucking country, visible all round as you approach...
-
I suspect the first major plan is building whole new training facilities which will likely include a modest stadium (like man city have) that will be used for women's games etc. Once that is built, so years down the line, they can rebuild/move whatever new stadium and we will play in the temporary stadium for a year, which will suck but hey ho.
