It's definitely reputation laundering tbh, and also an investment. I don't think they give a shit what a lot of people on the internet think, it's more just moving the dial on what is 'normal', so now they have us, it doesn't seem so strange them buying loads of golf stuff, and then when they buy lots of golf stuff "well we can't object to that since it's already happened to Newcastle" etc and is just a lever into further investment, so it works in terms of financial investment and also to help their reputation in terms of gaining more influence over UK and beyond. If some fanboys decide to start loving all things Saudi Arabia no harm there, and the flack they receive doesn't really affect them much. My feelings on the takeover have been posted endlessly before, I don't really understand why fans feel the need to go to bat for our owners online and the like, a lot of the criticisms are completely valid, and I would be critical if another club had been bought by them. I look forward to the day that sport as a whole is owned by and run for fans, but that day is a long long long way off if it ever happens, (it won't).

He was steadily improving last season and looked pretty handy. I would expect any price for a player with a long time left on contract to be rather inflated. West Ham may have every reason to believe his second season is going to be much better than his first and don't want to lose out on the added value that would bring.

When was the last buyback clause that actually got activated (at least a high profile one)? Seems pretty rare. Hopefully it's for an extortionate amount. Regardless I don't doubt should he get bought back one day we'll just sign someone else. I think everyone has this Ashley era anxiety about losing players as if it's the old days when a sale meant no players for a position for 2 seasons
-
Indeed seems pretty reasonable considering the crazy prices there are

Will be funny if he stays and retires here

Fucking love our squad such good vibes

With a bit more time I am more open to this view, but I thought Wijnaldum did the bare minimum for us. In reality it was disfunction from top to bottom but I was really excited when he signed and that Norwich game aside never seemed like all that much.
-
Yeah that's weird, however you imagine they are telling everyone one by one they are about to sign a different player and then they'll see what name leaks
-
If he isn't sure if a midfielder or full back he could be one of the in trend ones that come into midfield then

Who knows with all the stuff around it, that tape was disgusting, if it was edited why is he still with her? I'd want that tape proven fabricated in a court of law of that was phony. Terrible message, terrible lack of consequences all round and most of all i hope the poor woman is ok.

Both sissoko and wijnaldum seemed to down tools very quickly. It felt particularly with gini he very rarely showed his quality and still got his dream move to champions League while we went down. I have more time for sissoko since he did a more reasonable stint and put in some good performances but that season we went down the squad was perfectly capable of being midtable if half of them had given a damn

fucking old trafford reffing lol one of the most clear cut penalties you will ever see

I thought they had changed it so ffp amortization could only go over 5 years maximum
-
I mean considering the contortions we are doing to fit within ffp we should be completely with them, it's just Liverpool ffs...

Son has suffered from a succession of negative managers who have sapped his confidence, Howe would get him firing again and he has demonstrated over multiple seasons he can be an absolutely lethal attacker. His downside is he is a bit of a confidence player who will go in streaks, but no doubt he will find scoring form again under a coach that wants him to be forward regularly with support, though he is never going to form a partnership with Richarlison like he did with Kane so probably never quite hit those heights.

Klopp may be the worst for abusing officials. Absolute disgraceful how he acts around fellow human beings, and the worst thing is I am fairly sure he is aware and it is some performative shit that he thinks shows players how much he cares or something. I used to respect him, and I still do as a coach, but he is such a cunt.

Mings injury certainly changed it hugely. Had he stayed on the defence wouldn't have lost their heads. I don't agree with Emery's suggestion if Cash scores to make it 3-2 they are back in it, they would have pushed as much and we saw what happened with that high line and Barnes. But up until that 3rd goal Villa absolutely fully in it.

Footballs thing about player fines is kinda mad. I heard Nedem Onuoha talking about having wild culture shock transitioning to punditry and realising no-one have a shit about if someone was 1 minute late
-
I'm not sure the tshirts will hurt much, i guess helps squad cohesion but not sure. I think the injury to mings did knock the wind out of them and seemed clear he was the one barking orders to the defence as once he was gone they played like a thrown together 5 aside team

Ancelotti is rotating out the modric kroos partnership this season, they have 4 excellent midfielders in Bellingham, canavinga, tchoumeni and valverdi. They maybe would go for a 5th but can't imagine they'd break the bank unless someone left. Have heard rumours of tchoumeni being offered around but he will be in the playing squad a lot more this season so could go either way. Apologies to the players for me murdering spelling their names from memory

Can't believe he drew and lost that many tbh feels like we won them all lol. There was that rough patch I guess
