https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/sep/29/liverpool-mohamed-salah-earning-at-least-1m-a-week-adviser-ramy-abbas Now tbh, apart from the overal disgust at all the money in football, he is one of the best footballers in the world, so ignoring the ridiculousness of the salaries overall of course his salary should be in top percentile of footballers and ultimately that much money goes into it what do you expect? (PAY NURSES FOOTBALLERS WAGES ETC). However ignoring the obscene amounts of money overall, what sticks in the craw is still Klopps whinging about being a poor underdog below that ceiling or whatever. Poor poor liverpool can't compete etc etc etc

Hmm maybe. Not confident either way but i do doubt tonali will start champions league, and i am a fan and think he will settle nad be great but he's not our current strongest lineup which surely we will have for psg at home
-
I kinda more suspect tonali will start and be benched wednesday tbh. Isak will be benched considering the injury for wednesday too.

Aah my bad read stat wrong, still!

Can't believe this is first 3pm Saturday games since 2022 ffs is that some kind of record?

ISAAAAAK

Disappointing as it is to see the second string out, and I was hoping for a few more of the big players, no idea how anyone gets angry that our second string isnt close to man city's, we're not close to that level yet. On Tonali, it's very clear it takes a while for players to get up to speed to play Howe's brand of football, it keeps happening and yet people are still shocked when signing slowly gets up to speed.

I don't get the angst over a release clause. Of course if be upset if real Madrid came in and got him but we're not a club that won't bother replacing the best player any more, it'll be gutting if he goes but that is the nature of financial fair play until we have much higher commercial income we will cash in i suspect then buy the next Bruno for half the price (well preferably before)
-
Hmmm but if you look at it from perspective that the hand shouldn't be having any impact on the play and you realise there is a lot of grey area to intention makes it harder but i agree there are too many hand ball infractions. Penalty is 99% of the time a way too harsh punishment. I'd be for direct free kick even in the box with only exception being if it's on the goal line or clearly denies a goal. For the Gordon style offence I'm really not sure I can see both sides

How does the hallowed vvd get ahead of botman they conceded didn't they?

There are an absolute rabble premier league should sue them for damaging the quality of the league. I have huge sympathy for Luton considering there resources, these fuckers have been in the league before and stayed up recently
-
You'd say they're a championship team but you'd expect a championship team to at least defend well from crosses

I was really gutted by liverpool for teh record but i do have a little fear creeping in. I don;t like the ownership, well on record, have been trying to just enjoy but a little bit of me does really worry that the most fun we will ever have was last season, bit of an underdog feel still, likeable players, lots of goals punching above our weight. I kinda dread us becoming a super slick mega club and all teh players being mainly interested in their instagram followers and own 'brand' and then us all raging about losing the odd game and finishing second. I still just want to enjoy not having to worry about relegation and giving games a good go, i don;t want to be that furious fan of a top 4 club that is really angry that they only reached 1 final or something...and that;s before the concerns about an ownership that wants to execute me if i lived in their country, i do worry that last season was maybe the best it will be and by the time we win the league i will be numb to it...

Well done, timely reminder of how far short we still are. Some really frustrated at some of our play but overall good point, but also a reminder we will really struggle to get out of the group, but that is to be expected.

Finding we are sooo impatient in attack we try something overambitious that immediatelyh gives them back the ball, rather than letting more players join attack and trying ot draw a mistake
