http://www.zonalmarking.net/2011/12/03/newcastle-0-3-chelsea-tactics-mata-sturridge/ Pretty accurate summary of the tactics of the match imo. Noting Chelsea defending deeper than they have been making them better...had to do it for our match didn't they?

Feel so sorry for him, no-one will forget what he's done for the team this season up till now
-
I disagree with playing 5 at the back, I think it invites pressure onto us really by making us weaker further upfield.
-
He plays left back too.
-
Eh ? he fkn loves to talk about transfer targets he wants too though, unsettle who he can, already ths week he has been on about Drogba, Anelka and Cahill I just remember his hunt for strikers a bit ago. Hopefully won't unsettle Krul, more worried about ashley sensing profit

-
well thing is Redknapp's policy is always to talk about a hundred people he'd like to bring in then not bring in any of them, so I'm not too worried.

Can kinda see that, Man City seen as boring corporate, get a footballer whose a bit eccentric and such. But I dunno seems a little churlish to dig too deep, the off the pitch stuff one can ignore, he's fun on the pitch too.
-
he's been due a penalty save as well. Seemed to have tidied up his distribution as well (not that it did much good) but didn't spot him hoofing it out of play needlessly
-
Incidentally, when Saylor left pitch who got the captain's armband? Wondering whose third in line (assume Shola)
-
Did fine but tended towards playing more centrally and as such left Raylor exposed. Still played alright, with a solid left back is an option there based on that imo
-
I'd stick him on wing as well, even if I have been a critic in past, need 2 up front at the moment to make the most of our chances.
-
Says he will be ready for the first team in 2 weeks after he gets some reserve games under his belt. I imagine they'll rush him back now, and he'll get injured.
-
He'll shrug it off...PLEASE SHRUG IT OFF
-
Pardew playing Raylor with no cover was a disaster waiting to happen. Oh well he's allowed to make mistakes occaisionally. At least it wasn't against a shit team.
-
ffs. though hardly surprising without Saylor or Colo. Injuries much worse news than the loss.
-
both centrebacks is the nightmare scenario, I hope they're both just knocks and will be back quickly
-
Cabaye needs Tiote next to him, he's been a bit short of confidence recently
-
Not especially happy with our performance, but kind of to be expected with that left hand side. Jonas is a huge loss. Without Colo I panic every time they approach our defence, Sturridge is all over us. Having said that think we've looked alright at front, Obertan's done nothing but barely had it, Ben Arfa and Guthrie are doing well imo though Cabaye is having a bit of a bad game, that said did a ball into box at one point. I can see us grabbing a goal though, just think they have more goals in them.

Don't think he'd had much chance.
