I don't quite see what's so wrong with playing Guthrie as a left midfielder, granted he's not going to act as a winger much but he'll do a fair job shielding Raylor (assuming Santon doesn't get the nod).

Without Jonas we have less ball retention ability further up the pitch so his loss means we're more likely to be geared to the counter. i wouldn't mind pushing guthrie out wide, i like his interaction with HBA

He's obviously been for sale for a fair while and no-ones really come in for him, and while he can drop out of games I think he can be a lovely player and Pardew seems to have a good relationship with ferguson. Probably been brought up before though, and doubt we'd go for someone so expensive. We'll be signing cheap talent I know, but he's great for providing assists for wingers cutting in.
