He isn't moving very far, but his role would be hugely different. He would be expected to track back and cover all the time, which would completely change and affect his game. Absolute madness to ask Ba to do anything even slightly different to what he is doing now. As i said Ba isnt moving anywhere he's been playing that role all year long, he just joins up with the other striker when we are on the attack to make it a 4-4-2...... For proof look at his average position against Man Utd...... http://i45.servimg.com/u/f45/16/55/20/10/averag10.png Exactly where i put him in my formation.

Ba is'nt moving anywhere, he's been practically been playing as an SS all season long have you not noticed how much he drops deep to help out the midfield 2? and sprays passes to the wide players to get attacks going...... He basically does for us what Rooney does for Man Utd.
-
4-2-3-1 is the best system for us IMO...... Simpson Williamson Colo Santon Tiote Cabaye Ben Arfa Ba Jonas Cisse Ba drops deep into midfield to help out the midfield two anyway so i dont see the problem with it, obviously changes to 4-4-2 when we are on the attack....... The percieved problem with Ben Arfa's lack of work rate is quite frankly a non issue with Ba dropping in midfield and Cabaye and Tiote protecting the defence. I understand why Pardew wouldnt want Ben Arfa with Perch and Guthrie in midfield and Best and Shola upfront but with Tiote, Cabaye and Ba i dont see an argument tbh. Also Cisse works very hard off the ball aswell.

I know he said he admires Eto'o and quite frankly atleast in style he reminds me most of him.
-
Really ? iam supremely confident we will win and not just sneak a 1-0 either..... with Ba and Cisse together for a few weeks and hopefully getting even better and Cabaye and Tiote back together i think we will have too much for them.
-
depends who the LB is ? i've no problem with him switching sides if it's better for the team. Say for example, Clyne and someone of similar ability to Clyne becomes available but he's a LB; who would you buy the LB and switch Santon to RB or buy Clyne and leave Santon where he is? never saw enough of clyne to say, someone like cissokho would make me put santon on the right. Oh yh it would me too, think what i was getting at is i wouldnt move him for any average joe; only a fullback of real quality which will improve the team dramatically would make me want to move him...... After all for the most part he has been playing tremendously well.

Make a good point, having said that i just worry about the midfield battle...... what ever way you want to slice it; Guthrie and Perch are most likely going to get dominated by Parker and Modric...... Quite frankly that worries me, if Tiote and Cabaye was available i would actually be confident of winning. I refuse to take that as a given. Parker and Guthrie are on par. While Modric is obviously better than Perch, Modric seldom causes us any problems and Perch is essentially a defender. He may well neutralise any threat Modric does pose. Even if not, it probably won't make much difference. Both sides rely heavily on their wing play. That's where the real battle will be. Good point on the wing play..... on the Man Utd comparison i personally believe atleast on a individual comparison Tottenham are a better side than Utd although they are above them in the table.

I think iam one of the few people here, that would prefer a RB be brought in and keep him at LB.

Quite frankly i dont consider finances a major issue. ( ofcourse it would be nice to have more) But as proven over the last couple of years we can get some fantastic players on the cheap, also as already posted in this thread theres an abundance of quality available in the summer who is out of contract...... We dont need alot to meet our goals mainly due to our fantastic scouts

The Table never lies.....

That's quite funny actually considering how they have hyped up, in the best form they have been in years and we have been without lots of key players and not been playing that well and they still can only make up 3 points on us. Would'nt worry about Sessegnon btw he will slide right into Tiote's pocket

I think McLeish maybe a little bit butthurt

Was really impressed with Cisse, especially his overall game, i.e. first touch, control etc etc he's so much more than just a goalscorer....... Was'nt a great performance to say the very least but a win at this stage is what is most important. Really annoyed with the treatment of Ben Arfa, i realise he's had a poor couple of games but how many poor games has Obertan and Taylor had? Anyway we are up to 5th and level on points with Chelsea in 4th so things cant really get much better than that.

Apart from Raylor instead of Simpson i think we all do , whether we get it or not is another matter entirely. -

Your delusional mate. Perch won us the game? Are you serious? We were up 1-0 without Perch and were worse with him on the pitch since hes utterly incapable of holding onto to the ball. Seriously ? he never gave the ball away once....... We were alot more solid in the second half when Perch came on, compared to first half where we where all over the place defensively and Blackburn was getting at us at will..... I know none of us like Perch, but credit where its due he put in a solid performance and did exactly what was asked of him. -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14664378 Plus the fact he's an utter c*** on Fifa. I am not being funny but he's won everything there is to win on football on the club stage, whats wrong with getting one more big pay day before he retires? Besides he does a tremendous amount of charity work in Africa and other places alot like Drogba. I really fail to see how anyone can hate him tbh.
-
Drogba you selfish scumbag Cant he understand that we all want Cheik home ffs

Eto'o thing doesnt suprise me as considering what i have seen of him, his style reminds me alot of Eto'o. Wiry build, pacey, superb off the ball movement, superb predator in the box and packs a great deal of power off either foot. If he's half as good as Sammy we will be on to a good one
